Why is it..?

That the screenshots on the official EVE Site look so much better than in game? Are they running something else to take screenshots?

I dug through the graphics settings and the options were very limited.. is there something I am missing?

They might be the screenshots of the new DX10 supporting engine. Supposed to make Vista make Eve look great. And DX9 will look better too.

Most of those screen shots have fancy stuff like structures in them that you normaly dont see. But sobe may be right, you could be looking at the vista pics.

I don't know, they look comparable to what you see in game in most cases, the only difference being at such higher settings those big battles would run like shit.

For anyone who is interested in getting more bang for your buck.

1. Turn off "LOD" in the graphics settings.

2. Put advancedDevice=1 in your eve/cache/prefs.ini file to unlock more options.

3. Max Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering in your graphics card settings.
Supposedly this will increase your client detail to be comparable with what you see in the official shots.

As of the last few patches, i can't seem to get the altialiasing options to show up in options, even when using advancedDevice=1. =/
