I've created this thread that contains everything we know about beta. Please resist the urge to create new threads on this topic

PlanetSide 1 Players, Fan Faire 2011 attendees and PC Gamer Keys will have first access to beta once it begins.

No restrictions there. if you are/were a PlanetSide player you get a beta invite, be sure your station acct email is accurate

First or priority?

First = everyone who was a PS1 player, all fan faire 2011 attendees and PC gamer keys before anyone else.

Priority = Likely a randomised lot draw but PS1 players, all fan faire 2011 attendees and PC gamer keys have a much higher chance to be picked.

Most probably priority.

given that there are around 100k PS1 accounts, give or take, there are ATLEAST 25k subs(based off facebook likes) for beta and most of PS2's community is PS1 vets, i cant see everybody getting in.

lets say 20k of those signups are PS1 vets, thats a crazy amount for early beta focus testing. 20-30k accounts is the sort of numbers you expect on a high pop server that holds around 5k people at primetime.

I would expect planetsides servers to hold more than the average MMO server, but until beta is someway long i cant see the majority of PS1 vets in the beta, i would however like to be proven wrong.

Please clarify 'player' in RadarX's quote in regards to priority. ---"As stated players will receive priority access"

No really.. does that mean current player? as is currently subbed? or does that mean player encompassing all players, both those currently subbed, and those who were players in the past.

I know it's a nitpick, and I don't really care and am unconcerned overall, but I feel that a few people are really getting hung up on the idea that

current players > former players > everyone else

or if it's just

players > everyone else.

Oh and thank you Hamma - this needed to happen.

i doubt there would be anywhere near 1000 current PS1 subs, but given that PS2 as over 25k likes on facebook, i would imagine that most of those people would have signed up for beta + countless others. I cant see everybody getting in.

Duke I don't get what you're reading into with RadarX's post, it says not all planetside players will get in...BEFORE ANYONE ELSE, aka, they are getting in, which is what every other comment from the devs/smed/community reps have said, but they are doing waves just like pretty much every other beta. Hell the sentence before that one says that players will receive priority access, in addition to Higby's tweet I'm not sure how much more clarification can be given
