Hello fellow forum users I'm new here. Not just to the forums but also to the planetside series as a whole and I was just wondering what are some of the epic moments that you have experienced in the planetside series as I have no idea what to expect when I get this game.

My first ten minutes in the game. I was stumbling around, noobish like, had found my ATV and roared off to the frontlines. In the distance, I could hear gunfire and rolling explosions. Occasional truck or tank passing me. Then I got up to the front, where the two zergs were clashing. In that moment, surrounded by dust and debris, with a tank column streaming past me... I knew this was the game I had been looking for the last year

Definitely dropping 20+ troops on the backdoor of a base, sprinting past all the enemies, getting to the base generator, blowing it up, and holding it for 10 minutes outnumbered 3 to 1 to end a 5 hour long fight. Epic.

It would have to be when EL (friend/outfit member) and I killed AT's double gal drop at Ymir esamir with just the 2 of us (and fancy trap/ce placement) while on NC. Good times.
There have been so many purely epic moments in this game though. Last edited by Effective; 2012-07-18 at 11:14 PM. |

I was part of the attackers, we were attacking a tech base, you know the one with the windows at the top floor with the aircraft spawns.
There were like 40 of us up top, and 40 defenders inside waiting for us to bum-rush 2 doors. Both sides stared each other down through the windows. We didn't bum-rush but both sides spent the next 2-3 minutes doing taunt emotes at each other through the windows, cause the first guy that entered = instadeath Oh that must have been before anyone had the OS, back when the game was fun. This isn't epic by long shot but it made me feel good. It was during the free 30 days for Planetside vets. We were stuck at a bridge trying to take a base and were having some trouble getting across to take the tower there to move onto he base. Everyone there probably was trying for 30 minutes at least after I launched. I checked map an saw a tower behind the base so I jumped onto a sunderer that I had and took he long road around to the back side of base where the tower was closest. I walked in and it was pretty obvious they weren't giving that tower one bit of attention. So I hacked it and then snuck off into the base. I had a feeling that they would just recapture in a minute or two. But soon a crap ton of people start spawning at the tower I grabbed and about 5-10 minutes later we had based cleared and waitin for the capture.

The first time I was part of an amrour column with around 30 vehicles pushing on a base was cool. It was mostly prowlers, but there were a few lightnings, marauders, and skyguards. The tanks pummeled the base while friendly troops were moving in, and the light assault vehicles were cleaning up the soldiers with anti-vehicle hiding behind trees while we were making our way uphill to the base.
I've gotten numerous ANT's into a battle when our NTU was under 30%, that makes for some heart-pounding action when you barely make it in with your vehicle on fire, and still, friendly cloakers running through the middle of the courtyard will complain that you did not stop for them. The ANT always has the right of way. |

We'd held off a red alert at Caer with about 15 of us until it went neutral. Eventually, we all died and were sitting in sanct trying to figure out what to do. Someone mentioned we should go back and drop on Caer for a gen hold, so we did. After we killed 40 or so TR, they stopped coming for some strange reason, so a couple of us peeked outside the gen to see nobody in the immediate area. Almost all of us were down to one box of ammo for our guns, so the next plan was to rush the CC and flip the hack, which would effectively cancel out the CEP for TR squad leaders.
I think we cleaned up about 15-20 TR in the CC area with maybe 6 or 7 of us left alive, flipped the hack and then did a mass suicide. Funniest part was it cost one of the TRx guys getting CR5 since they got shit for BEP/CEP on the rehack and capture. :] |

I have no memory but there is a good video of 3% DT holding a biolab against both NC and TR. is said video. I have some leet deci shots! My most fond moment was Mohawk saying he loves me. I was in aww and crashed my plane (was defending the air during an andvari hack) - no other moment has been so wonderful. |

My personal was Killing a wounded BFR with a pistol just after they were introduced (still hate the damn things)
Bridge battles back in the day were epic - back when tank drivers didn't stop halfway across the bridge cos a lightning was the other end shooting at em. |

For kicks out in the middle of nowhere I once packed a tower up with 20 boomers, and set all the detonators on the ground on a nearby hill behind cover. Took about 5 minutes to setup. Then waited for 10 minutes for one lone enemy hacker to enter the tower. Then I picked up all the boomer detonators and started detonating them one by one.
I don't remember if I got the kill but the guy PM'ed me saying it scared the hell out of him. Boomer detonating always sounded cool and intimidating. |

LOL, the difference in the game play experiences here is comical
the only story I can even relate to is DT's, the rest of them are pretty sad most of you would shit if you ever had the chance to run with a high octaine outfit that is constantly moving, once you screw over a red alert you are friggin hooked, it becomes Planetcrack
