Argggghhh.
My trial is over and I assumed at this point I'd just be able to subscribe from the launchpad, give my credit card number, and get down to game bidness. No such luck. They want me to go out and buy a box, a jewel case and cd, and an I'm sure horribly outdated manual for a game that is accessed and was obtained entirely online. Ah well, return me to the list of tentative lurkers until I happen to be in a store its in or they let me buy a cd key (why not just give one to someone subscribing) online. |

HOORAY the gamespot key still works to subscribe from... I don't have to buy the box!!!
Score one for Mr. Cheap!!! How do you do it you may ask? Use THIS google archived page only: http://216.239.51.104/search?q=cache...hl=en&ie=UTF-8 Enter your email, and the email will HAVE to be a hotmail or yahoo account, I have no idea why, but I can verify that it doesn't respond to others. Your key will be sent to that and you can use it to subscribe. (not for a trial anymore it appears though) but this saves you $20-40 from having to buy the retail. hope this helps someone else if they were going to subscribe from the trial. |
