Was it Higby or RadarX who said that other companies don't announce Beta dates?

Most do not, not very far ahead of time anyway. That game is so far in development, that its time to announce the beta. BECAUSE THEY ARE READY.

You don't need to announce when beta starts. If you start beta right now, you don't have to worry about announcing when it will be out!

In other words... Give us beta.

Dont they pump out a new MMO every year or so...it's like a production line, so I wouldnt think that should be too hard for them.

They make very solid titles, so far. Quite a number of experienced developers in that company.

what RadarX said really makes no sense, almost every game does announce it's beta, and when it is not an exact date it they atleast say 'in that month'. How SOE is doing this is really odd, we don't even have an idea what they're up to right now or when we should expect something. All they keep saying is soon, or 'in the next few weeks'.
Don't get me wrong, i really respectate what they are doing, and I don't want them rushing the game.

But telling us 'in the next few weeks'.
And then making an annoucement again which says 'soon' 4 weeks later...

I think they should have done this differently, they shouldn't have said anything, instead of saying in the next few weeks and then avoiding every question and giving us no information at all

Again don't get me wrong, it is not my right to know what they're upto, but i know this is botheringa lot of people including me

In any case I wouldn't be locking in things like annual leave based around any actual new PS2 beta date we might eventually be given.
The day you are actually playing in the beta is the only time you'll know for sure.

N.B. in the above, beta refers to closed external beta with vet intake.
Not this type of beta... "beta in the next few weeks"

And not to be confused with any beta that may or not be running atm that is not to be spoken about.

I have seen a couple of clues, I believe beta has already started and we just havent been invited yet.

They've only released one MMO, they have two in production. (Defiance and End of Nations)

Yeah this has bugged me since they first said way back at the beginning of this year that "Beta will be sooner than we think".

Seriously, either give a rough date or don't say anything, all they've done is built up a lot of hype and then people lose interest when nothing is released. I'm personally no longer hyped at all for this game, "Soon" has gone on for far too long.
