Ok, I'm having a hard time finding this out and have so far only found one or two answers which don't even match up.
I checked up on google and found one guy saying it uses up 1.4 gig in 4 hours (some problem with the data going back and forth I think). And I got another that says it's about 100-150mb an hour. I need to know how much PS2 uses per hour. And it needs to be time spent actively with all that good fighting going on since it seems to use more internet usage when more's happening (just standing at a warp gate doesn't seem to use much). I only get 40 gig a month and I need to know how much I'll be using in gameplay. I'd imagine it'll be 700-800 in six hours but under no circumstances can it go over 900. I get like 1.4 gig a day man and need to do other net stuff too. So... Yea. Lemmie know how much you guys are using. And yes, I know there's internet trackers, but if I'm just going to overshoot anyway when playing, it's going to be internet usage wasted on download. They really should put in how much bandwidth is used per hours in system requirements on internet games. >_> Edit: And now I saw one guy saying it's 60-80 an hour. I'm getting different answers all over the place. O.O Last edited by Taramafor; 2013-06-13 at 06:49 AM. |

Some areas do have data restrictions in place now in Canada I believe. Time Warner and AT&T are also throwing around the idea of doing this state side. If both of those companies did start doing it then I would be screwed in my area. They are the only 2 options I have. If they started that crap here I would be forced to find a new hobby.

I was gaming on a mifi-card about a year ago, that had a 10 gig monthly limit. I had SWTOR or PS1 or T:A, or some random browser games running non-stop for about 6 hours every weekday. Only had issues with hitting the limit when I had patches I couldn't install from other sources.
I was tracking my BW usage logged in as admin to that card on another computer and I found out games, in general have VERY low BW usage. like 10-40 mb / hr. Patches... especially for PS2? That could be another issue. Last edited by Wahooo; 2013-06-14 at 06:07 PM. Reason: oops meant 10-40 mb/hr not 1-4. |

Yep.
Totally forgot about this thread. Anyways, I only get 40 gig a month (UK btw) with BT. The plus side is that if anything goes wrong with the modem/router, it's free to replace. The minus side is that the only option under unlimited is 40 gig a month (which I assume is actually a terabyte). Now take into account that games are taking up more and more memory (and therefore internet useage) to download. And with games getting bigger and bigger, the patches for games are getting larger. Why the last patch I saw was on Warframe which is 900mb. Since I've used at least a good 15 gig (mainly on a download) I canceled the process and frankly, am scared to play it again for fear of similar sized patches. And I still haven't put on Vindictus since getting this comp which I've been meaning too. Which is another download. And is an online game. Which means more patching. The play time itself doesn't really matter compared to all of that (as long as it doesn't exceed a gig in 6 hours). And there's also browsing. That might not seem like a lot, but with all these damn video ads popping up every other page... And of course there's browsing and other internet activities. Coughporncough. Kidding. But seriously, there are other things to be taken into consideration. Last edited by Taramafor; 2013-07-19 at 08:01 PM. |
