PS2 & MLG: Why it can be an amazing, immersive & engaging viewing experience.

Recent article I wrote discussing some viewpoints on Higby's latest interview this past Sunday on the MLG War Report.

Great article Kidriot. I totally agree that mlg needs more tools when it comes to the observer cam.

You should probably refer your article to PCGamer or MLG. Small article loaded with some significant food for thought is what I see here.

If you look on Reddit, Shaql posted what he was able to extract from PS2's files, that shows the layout of Nexus.

That said, good read.

I personally am part of the camp that is rather apathetic of MLG, but looking forward to the benefits it will bring the game... but you raise some points, and I'll give watching the whole thing a shot.

Don't I have to pay to watch MLG matches? How does that attract new players?

Why are you asking me, all I said is that I would watch some matches... I have been largely detached from the whole MLG debate, though from the outside it seems to have attracted a disproportionately large volume of bile given the positive influence it will have on the game, with a certain standard of quality the game is having forced on it by an outside entity, it will help to improve the bugs, balance, and latency that has bothered people. But simply put, I don't have any horses in the race...

Riot wrote the article, why don't you ask someone qualified to answer you?

I wonder if this was done in partially because of the PS4.

I was wondering the same thing. If that's the case then PS4 PS2 will be cross-platform as I don't see them splitting the league up between PC & PS4 servers.

You only need to pay for 1080p I think.

Id like to bump this in hopes of getting a question responded to. How ever unlikely.

It there a set standard for notice of who or what outfit you want to to follow for the War Report?

Today DVS was contacted again to do another MLG match up. This time I was told it was going to be with DVS and NUC fighting it out, but sadly I could not attend thanks to having so little notice. At around 8am EST a post was made of the DVS forums for members to join in for the MLG mock match at 3:15pm EST. Latter in Teamspeak I was told of maybe 12 hours total notice to get 24 people and leaders together for the match that know their shit. Not enough time.

After asking around Teamspeak it seems we got such short notice thanks to us being a backup to call if another outfit drops. I can understand having a deadline and needing someone fast but how much time did NUC have to get people ready? Are they a backup plan as well or a first pick this week? PS2 just can't do what MLG wants it to yet. Without battle islands and ways to have a fair fight with both sides agreeing to a time, place, and rules then it isn't time yet for a match based gameplay. At least give both sides the same prep time till then.

To anyone in NUC that can tell me-
How much time did you guys have to prep and get people ready?

-SPOILER-

DVS lost and that isn't the reason Im making this post. Someone has to loose and I like to loose so I can use it to get better even though I fucking hate to loose. Im asking because if DVS didn't have time to prep while NUC did then that is a huge issue.

Because of creating these miniconts SOE delayed Hossin! Fantastic strategy! Maybe esports really dont need instances because the only remaining people on servers will be some esports geeks.

We didn't have much time to prep for that MLG event. I for one couldn't make it because of work unfortunately.
