Teasing is easier than pleasing... just saying.

I always think those walls look like they come from Doom 2. And if they were the change in colour would signify a secret passage!.

I'm going to go ahead and be "That Guy" and say that there's nothing much to "tease" here other than the name Ixtab. Which was the name of the only Amp station on Hossin in Planetside 1 (and it's benefit was MUCH more vital than every one of the Amp Stations in PS2 combined).

A real tease would be a glimpse of the actual terrain.

I hope Ixtab is as much fun as PS1's Ixtab. A nigh-impenetrable fortress it was.

Exactly why I posted it. Apart from the name, that's all there is. Nothing to see.

That's exactly how all the Amp stations look like inside.

At least try to change it by putting more cover or something.

LLU AMP Station in the middle of the continent with four links to it... impenetrable?

Are we talking about the same Ixtab, the Ixtab that's so easily obtained we deliberately ignored it for last if possible?

You have no idea. Most battles I had at Ixtab lasted for days.
However, you are correct in saying that potentially the fortress of Ixtab could be easily snagged away provided the enemy was ignorant enough. But, the side of the easiest and safest air access was on the side of the defenders, making it very easy for a few hot-droppers to slide in unnoticed until its too late. Then folks know it's an Ixtab fight, and we're farming there for the next three days.

That same air-security deal made it very easy to intercept the LLU right over the attacker's corridor of AA. It was a very difficult LLU to get out of Ixtab: The roads were the only passable terrain in and out, unless you count the port side of Ixtab, which was on the side of the defenders.

In truth, Ixtab was piss hard to access from Ghanon and Acan, making the best way to have a real hope of accessing the base was from Bitol. Bitol itself was a long-distance link and generally not worth the effort. Best way to get Hossin was through the geowarp near Bitol and hack Hurakan before there is a large defensive population. That way, Ixtab is a quick grab. Otherwise, Ixtab will block all attacks.

That's why you might ignore it for last. It's so hard to take unless you have it for last, really. Plus, if its an easy grab, you don't have to sit around for 15 minutes waiting for the hack to finish since it is an LLU base.

If you think Ixtab was a fortress, can't see you taking Tore. Another easy to take base. :/

Granted, in all honesty I have to add that most players were too dumb to devise any coherent strategy, particularly if they contained amphibious assaults, which was a rather foreign concept to most outfits other than ours.

"What, a drop with Sunderers/Deliverers on the BD? Why not just use a Galaxy?"

Most people couldn't imagine an answer to simple questions like the latter.
