2nd Lt. Strovd, Vicas.
Formerly Mao Division, 22nd Vipers
Date: 23rd of May, 2865
At 1300hrs, on the 23rd of May, the 22nd "Vipers" infantry regiment ceased to exist. Under the orders of the High Command, Colonel Makrus Stoneside was removed from the rebirthing matrix, and shot. His crime, his age. The man had been in this war too long, and the Brass though he deserved his retirement package.
Lucky bastard.
Marching orders were issued to all the men of the Regiment. To keep the idea of desertion out of the minds of the new recruits, and old hounds like myself, the regiment is to be disbanded and deployed to new units.
Many of the boys were silent, as usual, marching off to the transports for their redeployment. One wasn't, though. A private, can't remember his name, started to show some emotion other than joy at the thought of redeployment. The poor boy had just suffered his first death, and had not suffered well. A commissar soon taught him the error of his ways, I can still remember the bark his Commissioner made when it reduced the skull of the lad to paste.
At least he gets to rest before arrival.
My orders are to head over to Camp Waterson, seems that the 52nd Validus are looking for experienced troopers to fill their ranks.
I hope that this isn't a gong show like the Vipers.
