Hey, i have a little problem, i dont know if its how it should be or not but heres my problem .. I have a new PC, full of very good stuff... I have 3770K, 16GB of RAM, Asus MARS II(dual gtx580) - but in Planetside, i only have about 60 FPS on High (not Ultra) Settings... i dont know, its seems weird to me, if you can help me, how to improve my performance, do it ... i would appreciate it

Well i strongly reccomend you learn how to modify useroption.ini file and put everything to ULTRA ! lol
And then you need to do some optimizing to get the SLI set up running correctly with Planetside 2. I dont have SLI set up but im sure someone here can help. You should try googling it. |

*looks at title* *looks at how much FPS he gets and claims that is low*
well, im sorry, but this is PlanetSide 2. it has optimisation issues, and i don't think you'll get much more FPS, unless you want to run it on low to get like 100+ fps.... buuuut dude, you are fine. i don't think you need any more FPS, you are lucky to get 60 on high. but yeah, i wonder what happens when you try and run it on ultra... DO IT |

Just how this game is performance wise. I don't think anyone is cranking out huge FPS numbers with this game. I still haven't seen FPS measures with the new Titan card let alone SLI. That card on top of a overclocked Haswell come June probably will get pretty good numbers.

PS2 is CPU bound in heavy battles, so GPU isn't a issue there for the most part.
You might be able to get 60fps+ on high / ultra if you overclock that 3770k to 4.5ghz+, but I can't promise anything, as I play on very low (except textures) to get maximum FPS in combat. I get 60+ in heavy fights on [email protected], 7950CF (GPU usage is only 50% though :P). |

You're complaining about 40-60 fps?!?!?!?!?!!!!!????? Try it on my computer! I get 20, 25 if I'm LUCKY! And I play on low settings! D: I used to get the 40-60 on high, back in GU02. But when GU03 hit, I got way back down to 20-25 fps on LOW. It ain't my rig. I run everything else just fine. It's something with Planetside 2's programming for lower-end rigs, and it needs to be fixed immediately, ASAP! D':

Apart from 'ultra' settings (a real misnomer if u ask me) the best trick I've found is to adjust your PC's power state when in-game. I had an appreciable jump in fps when I removed CPU throttling in the advanced settings. You can quickly do this by switching to the high performance profile in the Windows power control panel.
Ps2 will always want more horsepower than u can give it so it bucks against any attempt at throttling. Just remember to dial it back after a session! Last edited by Hobnail; 2013-03-25 at 08:46 PM. |

Well, if your cpu is still at stock clocks, you could try to overclock it as far as it goes. If you have better fan than the boxed version. But I suspect you already have done that, since nobody has reported that high battle fps with stock clocks.

Off topic, DAMN that is a nice setup you got there. Absolutely beautiful. Personally I bought a 200 dollar case that is way too large for my setup in case I can, maybe, just one day, turn it into a dream machine
But the game really is poorly optimized right now. I'm running a 3570k with a 660ti, 8gb ram, and I get pretty much the exact same FPS as you are reporting. It's annoying, I know, when I get in the 40s my aim becomes absolutely awful. But the best thing you can do is wait for them to optimize some more. Hopefully they can bring my fps up a bit too xD if I could stay consistently above 60 in big battles, it would be a miracle. |
