I figured I would start a fun thread about what kind of headgear people would like to see in Planetside 2. What hats do you want to see? What do you NOT want to see? Try to consider the aesthetic of PS2.

Here's an initial list of hats for people to mull over. I thought these hats might be in one way or another applicable to PS2's armies. Some are a bit silly, like the Ushanka for instance, but I love that hat and it's totally a legitimate military hat!

I know some people might want different kinds of helmets but those are best created by artists to look futuristic and faction specific. This is a pretty solid list of hats I could see people rocking in battle. What do you think? Anything missing? Yea or nay on some of the hats listed?

The anger is almost palpable. You don't want more options for head gear? I mean, I really don't see the downside so long as they don't go full out silly on us. The hockey mask helmets and the spike blades were ill advised. But some of these hats are classic military.

I figured this might draw some ire but they (SOE) need to monetize somehow. Might as well give SoE a list of things we don't hate at the very least. That way they don't spend artist time making dumb hats that we won't buy and will get angry at.

Because they will make more hats. They have to. It's a F2P game and they need to make money somehow. Hats are an easy way to do that.

As we can read on the Lore, NC hat would be on July 30 (or week after like TR one) and Vs should have been on June 21 or will be in september.

Well a hockey mask is not really a hat to start with is it? And hocky masks have been quite standards head gear for any sci-fi dystopia anarchy type thugs so I give it a pass even though no one will ever caught me dead in one.

I was just messing with you . It's understandable coming from a TR perspective that you should wear something more uniform, formal and official.

However, it's different coming from an NC, which are primarily a bunch of mercenaries and civilians. Given that Mbroome crafted the Sci-fi Shemagh, I'm sure he can come with a synthesis of modern military and fashion styles.

Given those two conflicting perspective, there will also be TR who'd want something more casual and there will be NC that will want something more formal. So, the Devs really have to balance between lore and wants of players.
