OK, so I was supposed to do this survey for my technology class, so I figured, how better than to actually USE technology to do it? Plus, I needed to get a wide range of people, and PSU is pretty diverse when it comes to opinions
If you could answer it, it would be really helpful . 1. Do you own a cell phone? 2. Do you feel you really need one? Why or why not? 3. Do you own or use a computer? 4. If yes, could you do without one? Why or why not? 5. Do you play video games? Why? 6. If so, how many hours a week? 7. What technology do you depend on, other than a cell phone and a computer? Why do you depend on these items? I realize number 5 is a little redundant here on these boards, but bare with me . Once again, I appreciate any serious responses. 1. Do you own a cell phone?
Yes. But its deactivated currently. 2. Do you feel you really need one? Why or why not? No. People can leave me messages at home and I can get back to them. I got sick of getting calls while I was in the middle of something, and paying for the service. If someone wants to talk to me, they call the answering machine and I'll call them back when I'm not busy. 3. Do you own or use a computer? Duh. 4. If yes, could you do without one? Why or why not? Nope. I'm a tech nerd. I need my computer or I'd cry. 5. Do you play video games? Why? PlanetSide, Rome:Total War, and a few other games occasionally. I enjoy gaming because it helps me relax, and generally is an enjoyable thing to do when I have nothing else to do. 6. If so, how many hours a week? Eh, prolly at least 25 hours a week. 7. What technology do you depend on, other than a cell phone and a computer? Why do you depend on these items? Television. Source of entertainment and news. Printer/Scanner, means of entering/withdrawing data from my computer. |

2. Kinda. Nice to have in an emergency, but thats the only time i ever use it. Ive used 3 minutes this month, and all 3 was corrosion calling his mom. 3. Hell Yes. 4. Hell No. I'd shrivel up and die. ...quickly. Forums keep me in touch with most of my friends. Get joy from reading funny stuff on the web. Easier to type to people than to call them IMHO. I hate the phone. 5. Yes. Stress releif, allows me to do stuff id never do in real life. Just plain fun. 6. Hard one. varies week to week, but id guesitmate about 20+ hours a week. 7. iRiver (mp3 player) allows me to listen to music nearly anywhere. Entertains me when im bored. [Future] PSP - allows me to view videos and play games. Sidekick - Technicly a cell, but with internet / AIM capabilities. Allows me to stay in touch no matter where I am. Can browse forums in class even |

While unemployed I have a lot of time, 20 hour days, so lot's of hours. 7. I don't depend on a cellphone or a computer. The technology I do depend on is the simple things, the city's laws, the structure keeping my body nice and cozy, the vehicle in wich I seldom use. |

No, I use this computer for my college work, it is essential with all its programs I need to use such as Photoshop and more basic stuff such as Word, I also use it as a source of entertainment such as browsing the internet or playing online games which keep me occupied, it is also a huge source of information. 5. Yes, I am a very socialy active person but I still lvoe being able to come home, relax by myself or with a few friends and enjoy entertainment in a game without having to do much besides pressing a few button/keys. 6. Hmm I don't know exactly but lots...I say at least 20 7. Washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, etc, any household items like that are vital, I could clean my clothes and wash my dishes by hand but that takes time and is old fashioned, we live in a world that is constantlyu in a hurry, things need to be done fast. |
