Where did our horizon go?

There used to be a nice curve to the horizon when you looked out over the ocean. Now it's a chopped straight line. Did they make the maps smaller or something?

I'm sure it isn't important to some, but as an aesthetic it would be nice to have...or was nice to have. It's bad form, bad world-building, whereas it was a nice feature. My FOV is still the same.

They have definitely made the map smaller on Indar with GU9, and I think they've cut all the continents short. Some of the bases on all the continents already seemed too close to the OOB in my opinion.

Nah they made the planet bigger.

Edit - perhaps in anticipation of adding a lot more continents.

Is anybody else even seeing this? maybe I've screwed up something in my ini. It's one of those artifacts that's hard to un-see. Any time I'm in the air, and near the edge of the map, I see it.

I hope the curvature of the horizon isn't a feature they removed. Nothing to rage-quit over, but it was a nice feature.

Yeah, I've noticed this as well. It breaks the fourth wall pretty badly. Whereas before, you'd mentally buy the concept of being on an island, now that little mental conceit gets wrecked every time you fly, because you can see the edge of the skybox.

I'm assuming this is a bug. Because I certainly can't imagine it was an aesthetic choice, and if it was done for performance (for whatever unknown reason) it hasn't worked.

auraxis has started to break apart and the continents will turn into seperate planets.

and i don´t dare to say what will happen next...

something like nazis will roam the streets, riding on dinosaurs they found in disfunctioning solar hubs.

I never noticed there was a curve?

Until yesterday, I didn't even realize water was in-game. Jumped in a random gal while waiting in queue, and got dumped over it

There was a ledge a couple feet above the 'water' - it looked like a sheer cliff face, but I somehow stuck to it and got a good look at the water.gif

The horizon was solid fog at the lowest graphics settings.
