Nice. Know the front part there with the Mustang... mustang? Dad's letting me replace it with a Ford like plate (as seen on the red car on that page in the OP) and air brushing whatever I want on it. Guess which xenophilliac faction's gonna get it's emblem on my new car...

My first car was an M-reg (Im UK based) Volkswagen Golf, 3-door, 1.4L Petrol....

Car - £600
1st year insurance - £1485 (17 year old male with a boy-racer car ...MISTAAAAAKE!)
1st year MoT - £100
2nd year insurance - £840
2nd year MoT - £200

Sold the car half way through year 2 for £650 and got £400 of my insurance back...Biggest money sink of my life.

It went like stink though

EDIT: Forgot road tax...£135 a year...

Holy SHIT you guys pay a fuckton of taxes and insurance.

My first car:
$4500 Pontiac + $280 sales tax,
$800 insurance for the year (still a lot for a 16 year old, but I guess the V8 didn't help),
$130 Registration + Safety sticker fee
$2800 Fuel bill for the year

I know a guy who will only buy Panther platform vehicles at auction. Clearly they did something right.

They did something right in '85. And while car collectors are a weird bunch and I can't say anything against those opting to buy any kind of car, that platform has absolutely no business being made in 2012. Ford made the right choice to rid of that thing.

I dunno, there's something to be said for a body-on-frame beast. Ford's been better served by bringing their euro-spec trims stateside, in my opinion, but it's largely academic at this point.
