Elysian Drop Troops - From the skies!

We’re an adult based Platoon made up of Warhammer/Planetside and PC gaming fans. As with most gaming communities, we have our own rules that we follow to make our experience more fun and enjoyable for all members. We've been playing Planetside 2 since its release and we haven't had chance to put the game down, we have been bringing the our wraith to all our foes and enjoying cutting down anyone who stands in our way.

So who exactly are we and what do we do?

We are the Elysian Drop Troops, our methods of battle may differ from other Platoons. We're known for the rapid deployment capabilities using Airborne Troop Carriers, and deploy by rappelling or grav-chutes from high altitudes. We specialise in being able to deep strike into enemy territory, so we are unable to field any heavy ground vehicles during first enemy encounters. While this may be the case, we do make use of a number of light vehicles including the Flash and the Sunderer for rapid assaults on targets.

Many units are formed as infantry regiments by the Terran Republic, with tens of thousands of men. But there are other more specialised regiments, such as those recruited from the world of Elysia. These are the famous Drop Troops, highly mobile airborne forces, equipped with sophisticated aircraft, weaponry and grav-chutes for long range strikes deep into enemy lines.

The Elysian Drop Troops are amongst the best rapid response troops that the Terran Republic has to offer. Not only do we have some of the best and most well cared for equipment and a high proportion of Troopers within our ranks, but we have perfected the tactic of attacking by grav chute and Airborne Assault Carrier. It is common for the elite soldiers of Elysia to appear from the skies en mass above their objective, raining onto the battlefield and sowing devastation and confusion throughout the enemy lines before they have even landed. However, the Elysian Drop Troops' combat doctrine does not afford them such luxuries as the Battle Tanks. As a result, Elysian Drop Troops specialize in ambushes and attaining and holding objectives

What can we offer?

Leadership and Teamwork

We pride ourselves on giving our members the best experience they can gain from playing Planetside 2, we have put in place a rank structure that gives our members the leadership that will equip them on overcoming the enemy in battle, we have many ex-service members that offer their tactical insight to over members that help us move and perform with better efficiency. We make sure that every member knows that teamwork overcomes any enemy, we train ourselves to move and act as a team when we face our enemies. Together, as one.

Voice Communication

We use Mumble for our voice communication service, all members are required to connect to mumble when we go out on operations, this does not mean you have to have a microphone, just the ears to listen to orders and the courage to follow them.

Dedicated Website & Forums

We have a fully active site and forums for members to post anything related/non related to the game, it also allows us to manage our members, set up times for events and also lets everyone bond as a Platoon.

Ranks

We have put in place a rank system that allows us to manage the Platoon with ease, it also allows us to identify each member we have and what role they play within our Platoon, every member starts as a recruit, every member has the equal chance to move up the rank structure by showing the Platoon commanders they have the dedication and determination to go the distance. Being that we specialize in Airborne assaults we also have ranks dedicated to the members who of the air service, they are the ones who Taxi, Bombard and Engage the enemy while the bulk of the force is on the ground, if it wasn't for these members then we could not exist.

Recruit

This is your first step on becoming an Elysian Drop Trooper, the path a head of you will be filled with constant battle and death. If you manage to come out alive and listen to your fellow Platoon members then you may be blessed with the Drop Trooper rank, only the elite gain this rank, only those who have showed dedicated towards their fellow platoon members will be considered on being promoted.


Drop Trooper

To gain this rank is to be counted among the elite, Drop Troopersand Pilots are the Elysian main bulk force, you will spend most of your time in the thick of action taking down enemy defences or setting up ambushes, escorting Troopers into battle or setting choke points to kill and halt enemy forces until heavy armour can arrive. You may find yourself surrounded, cut off from any support bar your fellow Elysian, only then will you truly learn what it is like to become an Elysian.


Veteran Troopers

Veteran Troopers & Pilots are the stories that recruits debate about while resting in their bunks, they are living legends among the rest of the Elysians, they have seen many battles, experienced many conflicts and have the scars to prove it. These Troopers have shown the ultimate dedication towards the outfit and manned their position while others ran, they can usually be found at the front of the action inspiring the rest of the outfit around them.


Sergeant

This is the first step on becoming a leader within the outfit, being a Sergeant is to lead from the front, to show your skill on the battle field with not only weapons but guiding your outfit across the battlefield or skies. Sergeants will help officers with deployment and taking objective points from the enemy. They're around to help any new members of the outfit with any queries or help them with the tactical aspects of the Elysian Drop Troopers battle doctrine.


Lieutenant Trooper

To be a Lieutenant of the Elysian Drop Troopers commands nothing but respect from any outfit member, they have risen through the ranks leading by example, commanding troops and showing their battlefield tactical authority. Lieutenants help the higher command in searching for objectives to strike and also supplying intelligence on enemy positions, they also help out by making tactical battleplans for when the Elysian Drop Troops are deployed.


Troop Captain

If the Lieutenant is the hand that grasps the sword then the Captain is the brain that co-ordinates the strikes, the Ccaptain is not always present at the forefront of the battle but is always looking at tactical advantages for his platoon to take advantage of, he commands the entire platoon and decides where the next strike will take place.
