As far as i know there are no Australian/Oceanic servers atm, but the second there is one, how many people would be interested in an Australian outfit, laid back and chill with possible organised play with squad leaders and battle plans and such. Possible names: Underside(Down under + planetside) , Bloody Oath(sounds badass to non-Australians, silly to Australians), Flaming Galah. Or we could ditch the idea of an Australian related name.
We could change faction if demand was high enough. |

Hey mate,
I've got one going and could use some like-minded ps2 fanatics to spread the word of both the outfit and planetside to the Australian public. Unfortunately, ps1 had about as many Aussie players as I could count on my fingers and toes... Hoping to get as many as possible this time around!! Http://Ps2.hatemash.com.au |

I saw your Outfit, the reason i said after Australian servers go live is because i wanted to check out the lag on the American servers, and how it would effect my play in an American VS outfit. I want to have a Vanu main, I really like the look of the energy weapons, armorstyle and the scythe.
If playing Vanu on the American servers is possible, then i will happily play a TR character in your outfit. I dont have experience in PS1, and dont usually play FPS, but do not stress I am an extremely fast learner and thinker, gaming comes naturally to me. The only problem you might have with me is my natural tendency to try to have large amounts of input. I have two modes, fuck it ill just do what im told, and stick my nose into anything i can. If you can deal with the second mode I will be happy to join, if I am required to be in the first mode, then i wont be so happy to join but might anyway depending on how i like the atmosphere in the outfit. |

We take all types mate, if you want to play vanu.. Play vanu. Chances are there wont be oceanic servers and we will all be on US West servers.
Only problem there isnt a massive australian following, as there was hardly any of us in Planetside 1 - so i would guess finding a populated aussie outfit would be hard in any faction. |

+1 Aussie, however I'm most likely going to be joining the reddit TEST outfit.
However if there's Aussie servers I will definitely switch over, can't beat that sub 50 ping Last edited by Sensator; 2012-06-11 at 07:36 AM. |

Reporting in. Undecided on faction at the moment. Leaning towards Vanu for the Scythe or NC for general design. I'd be keen to join an Aussie outfit. I like the more serious, coordinated kind of gameplay so I might try and get a squad together that feel the same.
I hope there are enough Oceanic players to justify a server! |

There will be quite a few AU/NZ outfits when things get under way.
In PS1 we formed an alliance with 2 other AU/NZ outfits for organised operations. Thats the good thing about Planetside, you can be small outfit or large, they can all work together for that common objective. |

Did PS1 have Oceania servers? How was the experience playing from Australia? The games are pretty different so it's not exactly a good predictor of the performance we'll have in PS2 but hopefully gives us an idea that SOE is at least capable of delivering something playable for everyone.

No Oceanic servers in Planetside, we mostly played on the West Coast servers.
It was playable most of the time. Hopefully their server pool is located as far West as possible for us. We dont know exactly where they are going to be yet but it will be just classified as North America. Plenty of theories floating around in a large thread in the PS2 section here. |

I've got a Aussie Air Cavalry Platoon called the Jet Bastards. If your not sure what Air Cavalry is I've got a explanation here (link). About half our members are Aussies (including me and a couple of the Squad(/ron) Leaders) and half American with a couple night shift Europeans also. We're extremely regimented on our formal outings and very relaxed the rest of the time. Our regimented outings are once a week, a optional outing one more time a week, a Multi Platoon outing (we've got 3 Comrade Clan's) once a month, and rest of the time we're simply jumping on with whoever is online and being much more relaxed. We've also already gone to a lot of time and effort to make up recruit handbooks and strategies and such for those of you who are not FPS specialists or are Veterans in need of some Polish and we're regularly making more as are our Comrade Clan's.
If your interested send me a msg, holla at me on the shoutbox or file a recruitment form at : jetbastards.enjin.com |

Well, I know they said they where planning on making an australian server so I'll be playing on that, I hate lag with a burning passion.
According to a random article on a random website some where, So we should be sorted, I think planetside 2 will draw more australian players as well. And I'm attempting to start up a NC outfit. So I'd like to be able to plan and work with other NC australian outfits, But with out being completely sucked into theirs. Last edited by ChurchTheSaint; 2012-10-05 at 07:56 AM. |
