Question Game won't launch!?

Ok so downloaded the game a couple of days ago and the launcher updated just fine and launched the actual game fine also.

But then yesterday when I open the launcher (It still downloaded the updates) and presses "Start" the game said it was launching but then it just closes down and NOTHING happens....

I have tried running the game as administrator, both the launcher and the Planetside2.exe file. Without succes....

Do I have to reinstall the game?

The patch has altered the game files and anti-cheat mechanisms so much that some AV and Firewall wall systems were stopping PS2 from running.

Comodo and Avast are both detecting nasty behavior and preventing the game from running.

Comodo needs all the defense+ stuff to be disabled permanently.
Avast you need to shut it down completely (wait a few minutes) and then PS2 should run fine.

Not Ideal, but there you go.

You don't need to shut down AVAST's protection,

Go to your Shields and add the launchpad.exe and planetside2.exe as exceptions and it will work just fine.

Hey thanks for the answer, I currently use Norton by Symantec.

What is it I have to shut down, the firewall?

Same problem. I sign into SOE. I get the white load bar that reaches 98% and then it crashes. Nothing happens after the load bar gets stuck.

I have disabled Avast which seems to do nothing.

I have the latest drivers for my vid card. Check Asda Offers and Aldi Offers. My systems meets the specs easily.

Any suggestions?

Normally this would only happen once in awhile.

Now i am permanently stuck at 98% and then it crashes. firewall is fully open to planetside 2...

EDIT: The login server is down, JOY

If you are experiencing issues running the game then in all likelihood you need to enter the program executables to the relevant exclusions lists in either your AV/ firewall settings or both.

If you do not know where these settings are then you need to spend a few minutes digging around in your management interfaces for those tools till you find it and/or do some reading up on the tools that you use.

Not all tools are alike. I use different AV and firewall software from that mentioned above and there are no issues so clearly it only affects certain makes but should be very easy to resolve.

If you then still experience issues you need to check the PS2 logs and perhaps your application event log in Windows to see if there is anything else that might be stopping the game from running.

Its not complicated people but you do need to put some work into finding out what might be the problem.

1- go to ur installation folder
2-find Launchpad.exe , and planetside2.exe
3-right click on Launchpad.exe
4-go to compatibility tab -on top-
5-change settings for all users
6-check the compatibilit
7-keep1 it on windows xp
8-check run as administrator on the bottom
9-do from step 3-8 for planetside2.exe too

Comodo works fine with PS2, just put it into game mode.
