Forum Changes

I have modified the sorting of the forums so PlanetSide 2, and PlanetSide are the first thing you see when loading the forums followed by the Lounge and General forums.

Feedback on the new sorting is welcome! Let us know what you think.

I see you split Outfits Recruiting from people looking for outfits. That's pretty cool. Was there always a player introduction forum?

Yep - it was just buried at the bottom.

New members get a notice at the top to introduce themselves though that's how they tend to find it.

For some reason I feel News should still be at the top.

Other than that I'd say it's about right. Personally I'd put General Gaming between Lounge and Tech, but that doesn't really matter.

Oh, and I guess Outfit Recruitment needs a new sub-text.

What happened to PSU news? Is it now site news? I liked the idea of a news forum so it's a one-stop-shop for news articles rather than being buried in the general discussion.

Though I suppose that's what the home page is for

I just go right for the meat and skip to the forums!

This forum was the PSU news forum

We used to use it for all news comments but now we just tag threads as news. Similarly to how you can sort by empire you can filter by news in the general discussion:

But yea - that's what the main page is for

I think the news belongs more with the discussion than separated.

I did mean this forum at the top, yeah, but I'd forgotten all the PS2 stuff was in PS2 discussion now...

It's probably perfect for now, but I wonder if splitting PS2 news and discussions might not be better after the post-release boom.

Mainly because we had no PlanetSide focus in the first half of the page.. Odd for a PlanetSide Fansite.

And yea Vancha we will prob tweak post release.

I prefer the new layout, makes a lot more sense to me as someone who has been here for only a short while. The only thing that feels slightly out of place is the Site News forum, but then I don't have a better suggestion at the moment.

I feel it's an improvement from before. Newcomers will see the section that people tend to use the most at the moment IE: PS2 General.

I still have it I just hid it for right now.. it hasn't been getting a whole lot of use.
