Question Which LMG should I get? TR Heavy Assault

Im stuck between the Terran Republic's T9 CARV-S and the MSW-R. Which one is better? The price doesn't really matter. Or should I get another (better) LMG instead of this one?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

I love the MSW-R. It has almost no recoil and a very high rate of fire.

Slap the laser pointer attachments on it and you get near carbine level hip fire accuracy.

I can't really help with specifics since I don't know the TR weapons that well, but to really tell you which is "better", we would need to know what playstyle you prefer with your HA (CQC rampage, mid range sharpshooting etc).

Technically there's no weapons that are strictly "better" in PS2 (yes, yes, I know some things are questionable on that point, let's not derail the topic though ), only ones that are better for you, or for a particular situation.

The CARV-S sucks.......In everything IMO even long distance compared to other LMG's.

Carv-s really needs some buff or something, specially since it cost 1000 certs 700 sc.

MSW is much better because of the advanced laser sight which gives u an advantage in hipfiring....also great mid distance.

Get the MSW-R way cheaper and way better than CARV-S...If you need another Long distance LMG just get the other long distance LMG, not carv-s.

MSW-R (with laserpointer) is great when expecting close combat, like indoors, plus the fast reload is great. Biggest downsize is the ammo capacity. I'm often running out of ammo when using this gun and I'm not somewhat close to a group with an engi.
Therefore I tend to stay with the normal carv, with a forward grip and the x1 sight.

Having used both guns for a long time I'd say the difference between the two isn't that huge. The "feel" of both guns is also not that different for me.
You trade reload speed and slightly faster firerate for a lower ammo capacity.

Fighting at a biolab/capturing a tower: I use the msw-r (and the ml-7 launcher)
all other time: carv (and the skep launcher)

Of the two I prefer the MSW-R It has good accurasy, high burst and fast reload for a LMG. Some of my best outfit mates are prising the T16 though. So maybe want to test that one out

My weapon usage --

Nighthawk inside small buidings such as biolab cap point buildings, amp station between garage and gens, tower fights, most outposts. Requires a different type of playstyle, but it's a lot easier to kill when you're facing multiple dudes at a time. You'd have a hard time doing this with an LMG, but even a shitty player like me can do a reasonable impression of it:

TMG-50 outdoors only

MSW-R is a situational thing for me where I need some ADS range, but might have an LA jump me so I need hipfire. This happens in some of the more open biolab areas. OK for many tech plant areas, too.

The MSW-R has been good to me. It got better when I put the reflex site on.

Yeah I used MSW-R since launch mainly cause I think it was from alpha squad package. They nerfed the Carv into suckage so i'm glad they left my baby alone. It is funny though since it's nothing like a TR weapon with the small clip but that's the only way to stay on par with those VS.

Nighthawk is just too inconsistent for me even with slugs. I use it in towers but not much else.

Stick to MSW-R. It's the best TR LMG if handling faster fire rates and firing from the hip is not a problem for you. Especially when you have the habbit to reload after every engagement.
If you want slower, more controllable fire there are other options, depending on the distance you want to operate. T9 Carv-S is not one of them. It's overpriced and under-performing.

TMG50 and T32 BULL are accurate med-long range beasts. Carv and MSW-R are good CQC guns. the Carv S gets you a 200 round mag with the extended ammo... Really every TR HA LMG is pretty decent. You wont go wrong with any

One I don't hear people mention that I use a lot is the T-16. Fires like a laser beam. Tack on high-velocity ammo for outdoors and you're good to go.
