I've been watching as gambling has cut inroads into American society. I've been known to play a hand or three, but I'm not compulsive about it (other addictions).
So how do you rate on the CompulsiveGamblometer?

Everyone knows that losing scratch tickets can be used as coasters to rest your drink on later. It's a win/win.

Not much more than a pulltab lotto ticket guy. Where I live In Canada, the government is going mental with slots....putting em freaking everywhere to raise more and more taxes. As far as i've heard, even the best gamblers in the world will win only something like 53-54% of the time.

Odds are usually slightly in the casino's favor, but it will always be in the casino's favor. You want a slightly better shot at making money off of craps? Bet on someone, even yourself, to lose. I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head but you're more likely to lose in craps. I bet taking a prob and stat class now is gonna pay off later.

I *never* gamble. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush- I'd rather keep five secure dollars then try to get ten, but risk the five.

The gun katas. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly. |
