The Nuclear Sparrow, AA equivalent of the Orbital Strike

As much as many love the Orbital Strike, mostly people who don't do support or drive AMS's, I have a balance proposal: the airborne equivalent of the Orbital Strike, the Nuclear Sparrow.
Fired from orbit, just like some people's beloved Orbital Strike, the Nuclear Sparrow would incinerate anything airborne within a 5km radius of its epicenter. Due to nanotechnology and advanced detection techniques, no ground-borne forces would be affected, including airborne maxes.
However, all aircraft and any pilots associated with them, even those that had bailed from said aircraft or parked them would be vaporized, even if they had managed to touch down, unless they had deconned their aircraft. Like the ground-based personnel, their only option would be to be outside the radius of the Nuclear Sparrow's blast, or to no longer be linked to an enemy plane.
This is an excellent counter to the Orbital Strike, and would offer some balance, as its radius would enclose about the same number of enemy aircraft and pilots as the OS could enclose ground units and ground-based personnel, due to the far higher speed of aircraft, as they all tried to scamper to safety.
For any enemy ground-based units in the area, or any friendly pilots, it would merely act like an EMP.
