Since vehicle animations are not going to be in for a while (if at all) we will see many people bailing from their nearly-wrecked vehicle, or even if they bail the moment they are fired upon. This should provide a bonus to the player(s) who inflicted the damage which resulted in a bailout.
Not alot, maybe 10% or even 5% of the value one would get from destroying the vehicle and taking out the bailed driver / passenger. If multiple players inflicted damage, they would get an equivalent share of the forced bailout bonus points. This is not only a stop-gap solution to discourage bailing, but as well a system that can continue on once enter/exit animations have been put in. Even with enter / exit animations, pilots will still bail from aircraft, and that should have a bonus with it (on top of vehicle destruction bonus for when the aircraft crashes and explodes) to reward the player even if they don't manage to take out the pilot. |

so 1 person could get a bunch of exp from hitting a galaxy and everyone jumping ship?
Also that's a free vehicle kill. Not entirely sure but I think I saw in one of the e3 vids that you would get exp from destroying a bailed tank. |

I think it's a good idea to give something for destroying a vehicle even without anyone inside, but just so they're not entirely negated any rewards in case people bail. I mean, it's nice but i don't think that giving xp to someone for making others bail will discourage people from bailing.
edit: Here, skip to 24:10. When he finally destroys the tank, it doesn't show a kill at the top right corner of the UI, but at the center of the screen you see a "+100". What that +100 is i'm not sure though. Last edited by Dagron; 2012-07-11 at 09:40 PM. |

I think it would only apply to pilot and gunners, not passengers in a transport vehicle. There might also need to be 50% or more damage on the vehicle for it to be recognized as an emergency bail instead of a controlled drop.
