I was thinking about the Infiltrator Class in it's current state and was curious what everyone would think about giving the Infiltrator a Crossbow as a gadget to shoot a zipline they and others could use for fast entry or exit in and out of areas. It would be a high risk vs. high reward tool but come in handy under the cover of night and would help the Infiltrator....well...infiltrate..
They had these in BF2: Special Forces and they were quite fun....until of course you got to bold and your squad slid down the line right into a hail of bullets....yea that never ended well.....but it was an exciting tool to use. Just a thought...what say you? Last edited by VaderShake; 2012-09-06 at 04:24 PM. |

You could have speed on the line be relative to the angle it's at, so that if you want to get somewhere fast you have to shoot it further down!
This is a fun idea, not sure how they'd implement it, but nonetheless, cool! |

2 way travel certification would be interesting and in line with future tech. Good add on.
I think have an Infiltrator snipe a guy then zip line into an area to cap a point would be grand, or even zip into an area to act as over watch for your squad would be handy as well. If there was a cert for 2 way zipping how cool of an extract tool would that be. Infiltrator sitting on a ridge shoots a zipline down to his squad and they extract up to the ridge, almost like a fast blackhawk extract or something. Additionally the zipline could help the infiltrator move around the map on foot a bit quicker too. Not to mention it increaeds the verticle infantry gameplay beyond just light assault. More I play the beta the more I think this tool would be a great addition. Last edited by VaderShake; 2012-09-14 at 10:23 AM. |

It sounds like a very powerful ability to my ears. You're basically modifying the map, tactically speaking. A free shortcut wherever you want. Especially for an infiltrator, getting behind people easily ... maybe Light Assault?
On the other hand it does sound really fun. What do I know? |

Well with the whole zipline idea comes the need to further develop it - what will the zpline itselb be - a solid wire and if yes how strong if not solid will flying vehichles be able to pass trough it and if it is solid will they take damagae or bug out horribly and just self-destruct because they colided with the world. THe only useful thing about the ziplines I can CURRENTLY think of is there is this ont base on terran territory where there is a base HIGH ABOVE with only point A and long way beneath it another base - THERE you shoot your zipline and you can go safely as inf - only lights could fly down there everyone else had to take the long road to the base. Also Is the Southest middle part there is that base that you can go by AIR ONLY. You should want to you it there - but how will you go vertically on a zipline - maybe from it down it will be cool and let you stay inf and not make you switch to light just to go back to the battlefield. Well if anyone has nything more to say feel free
