I thought I would give everyone something else to think about apart from all this stressful beta nonsense. Whats your favorite gaming moment ever? A moment that has lodged itself into your mind for ever. It could be anything, it could have shocked you to the core and made your blood run cold or made you laugh so hard a little bit of pee came out.
Timbers Favorite gaming moment. Game - Hitman 2: Silent assassin ((((***Warning Potential Spoiler!!***)))) Your mission was simple, sneak into a Russian town and assassinate a nasty rusky henchman, nothing out of the ordinary. Your weapon for this mission has been left in a locker in the train station. The small locker opens, Sniper rifle, 5 rounds Piece of cake. You make your way to an abandoned building across the street from your targets office. An open window is your Snipers nest. Carefully you line up your scope.there he is. Wait. Something is wrong, hes looking right at me.Does he see me? For minutes I stared back into those cold eyes, pondering the situation. Was it a trap? Was there a sniper trained on me? Suddenly it hit me like a SPAS 12 to the chest. Hes not moving he hasnt moved a muscle since I got here. My mind starts to spin, Is this some kind of Target dummy Im looking at?. Too far away to see, must get closer. I make way down the stairs and out the back door of the building. I freeze in my tracks as a body guard bocks my way Phew, he hasnt seen me. I wait until he wanders away from the door before taking my shot. Once again I line up my shot, carefully placing the back of his head in the center of my crosshair. My finger squeezes the trigger. A shot rings outbut he does fall did I miss? Impossible! No time for that hes spotted me. I take another shot. The deafening noise echoes in my mind as I watch the bodyguard charge me and draw his gun I missed again? No! I dash back inside the house and ambush him from behind a door. His body slumps to the floor as I unwind my fiber wire from his neck and pries his gun from his fingers. My mind still buzzing from the incident before. Finally I make it to y targets office. The door opens and I see my Sniping window across the street. This is the right room I think to myself. But where is.I look to my right and see a black silhouette. A cardboard cutout of my target, this was a trap. Im in danger here, My eyes run around the room looking for some clue. One of the office doors is Ajar. Sneaking to the door in a state of catlike readiness I slowly open the door. My heart stops and my blood runs cold. Standing looking out the window across the room from me, sniper Rifle in hand, is tall bald man in a suit. with a bar-code on his neck.Me This moment in Hitman, made the whole game worth buying. I can still feel all the emotions from that day as tried to shoot down the bodyguard with a rifle full of blank rounds and looked into those cold cardboard eyes of my Target What moment of gaming history do you find memorable

How about Tribes , Rollercoaster level. Someone had taken my flag, and out of sheer desperation, I aimed just under thier triangle. They were just at thier flag post, and about to cap. I fired off my Laser Rifle and POP! I shot 'em in the head. This was all the way from my flag post to thiers.
There have been many moments such as this in Tribes and Tribes 2 that I relish. Sniping has to be one of my favorite things. Not because I think it's "1337", or the "shiz".. but just because I enjoy the challenge it usually is in computer games. Of course, there was the times in Neocron where I would perform Drive by Hackings of outposts, just to prove to the evil swine that thier networks were not safe with me around. I've had many thrilling times being chased by angry mobs of the group that owns that outpost. Many times I ran past them only to jet away on my bike . So, it seems in this game.. hacking.... sniping.. and being an all around sneaky guy is what I'll do, hehe.

well this isn't my Favorite moment, but i'll never forget it. in final fantasy 7 when sepiroth comes down and kills aires (sp?), the flower girl. i played that game to death, my favorite RPG game by far. but my favorite would have to be halo lan party's, in general. me and my friend made up a warthog flipping game on a point system, it'd be pimp shit if we could mod the game, or have someone do it since have no clue how, to have this game be a mod. maybe on pc

I was playing Jetfighter II on my 386 DX2. It was the type of flight sim where the aircraft you were expected to kill were never more than tiny black dots due to the low resolution, distance between you, and the speed at which you travelled. You basically needed guided missiles to kill them. I was nearing the end of my mission and had gone through all but one of my guided missiles earlier, and two SU 27s popped on my screen. I managed to down one on the first pass and dodge their return fire, but I was out of missiles. Normally I'd quit, but I turned around and armed one of my unguided missiles (the game called them "Kinetic Energy Missiles"), which previously I found worthless.
I lined up with this SU-27, which was basically just a black pixel, and flew directly towards it, figuring I was in for a mission failure. I can't remember whether it fired on me then, but I concentrated on the 2x4 block of black pixels, seeing it swerve to the right or left every so often. In a split second the tiny black dot converged with my aircraft and flew over my cockpit, close enough to spit on. The time between when it was a tiny black dot and flying a foot above my craft was only a couple of frames, but I reflexively fired one KEM and breathlessly pulled around to see the thing dive into the Pacific, followed by a distant trail of black smoke. That probably got me hooked on computer games, now that I think about it.

Wing Commander II, after your character starts to have a romantic fling with Angel, I tanked a mission by ejecting, and was summarily sent off to some backwater place out of the fighting...and recieved the news that the ship that my character (and his new romantic interest) had been on had been lost with all hands, and the guy buries his head in his hands.
That really got to me.

favorite gaming moment.
The Game: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Place: Ganon's castle The lowdown: after putting Ganondorf out of his misery, i had escorted Zelda to the bottom of the tower before it collapsed. and then, when it did collapse, Zelda says "It's finally over...". remind me to tell the female main character in any game never to say that again. Ganon bursts from the wreckage and comes back for round two. After some more Pwnage, he goes down for the last time. you press the B button, and you slash up, left, down, right, then stab the master sword into his head. the final boss battle of any game always gives an incredible adrenaline rush... Second favorite moment: The Game: Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask using the Fierce Diety's Mask to tear Majora's Wrath to bits with little/no effort. |

Umm I'd have to say when I was playing 4 player halo in Blood Gulch. My friend always grabs the nearest vehicle, and a sniper rifle and heads to that middle cave, where he picks up the rocket launcher in the middle. Well anyway, he did that, and the rest of us got pissed, grabbed the nearest weapon ran to the cave I went in the front with a friend while another went round the back. When we got inside, he blew up the warthog, smashing us two in the front, and killed the guy comiing behind him with a double plasma that stuck to him. (like when you throw two plasmas on top of each other, when the first one detonates, it sends the other flying)
edit: of course I still own all my friends at Halo anyway

There is a lot of history behind my favroite gaming moment.
It all started back in Tribes 1 Insomniax mod. I was leading my own team at the time, and we were not the greatest. The 2 top teams were -CDL- and (-RA-). My team had managed to beat -CDL- a few times, but we were never able to beat (-RA-). On the other side of things where the real rivalry was (-RA-) had never beaten -CDL-, and a bitter fued raged between the two teams. Eventully my team fell apart and most of us ended up with -CDL- right before the release of Tribes 2. Fast Forward to Tribes 2 in a TWL ladder match...... -CDL- had been strugling some and (-RA-) wsa doing well on the ladder and as soon as they got the chance they challenged -CDL- so they could try and settle an old score. Keep in mind that (-RA-) was one of theose teams you just couldn't help but hate. Their leader was a fucking prick, and liked to talk shit to the teams he had just beaten, and I'm sure he was realling looking forward to bashing -CDL- -CDL- took them on Beggers Run, but were routed on Boss leaving only the tie breaker to decied a victor. The map was Slapdash and -CDL- opend with a quick 2 point lead, but (-RA-) Fought back, covered the lost ground and scored 3 unansered caps to take the lead. -CDL- fianlly regained their footing and tied the match at 3 all. With less then a minute left in the game -CDL-KickedOut grabed the enemy flag and got it off the pad, but he was quickly cut down by (-RA-)'s defenders. Out of nowhere -CDL-Swift as Feather ejected from his shrike and grabbed the droped flag. He was heading home with 4 defenders chasing him and time was ticking down fast. Swifty made it with eyesight of our flag before he was cut down, but -CDL-Manitou was right there to pick the flag up with only 10 seconds left on the timer. Mani started the mad dash for the cap and was disked off the pad 4 or 5 times before with .05 left on the clock he made it. Victory -CDL-, and a dejected (-RA-) went home never having beat -CDL- in a years long rivalry. I know you may not enjoy this little film as much as those that were there (Like Hamma, who you can see in the end sequence somewhere) but I did my best to preserve this great moment in gaming history. Enjoy. Click here to Download "The Cap" I never finished the moive, but you'll get a good thrill ride. |

Game: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Location: Computer class Oponet: Undefetable champion I know it's not the best game in the world, but this guy was the best at every fighting game we brought in, DOA, all the Tekkens, MKs, and a few other games. That particular morning was a game day. All day I played Halo multiplayer. I was all right. This guy Josh kept standing up with his hands in the air, so after my last halo game I walked over. Playing fighting games, he had one $60 from these other guys. I had $40 and was willing to loose it. He chose Scorpion and I chose Sub-Zero. The time limit was off and it was a long fight. We both were experts at combos and blocking but on the third match we both had about 10% of our health left. He lunged with his sword and I side-stepped then impaled my ice sword inside him to set him up for the fatality. I won $40 and the respect of all the gamers in the class.

#1: Metroid Fusion
When I finally beat it, I was in awe. The X parasite gives its life for you to live, and then you beat the Omega Metroid. My ship saved me, with .50 seconds left before the station collided with SR88 and exploded. The mission director, Adam, that Samus believed dead, had been preserved as a brain. His memory was uplinked into the Station and into Samus's ship. Samus wants to self-destruct the station, but the computer stops her. It wouldn't kill all the X, and she would be sacrificed. He told her to set the collision course, and ended with, "Any questions, Lady?" That's what he always called her when he was alive. (He gave his life to save Samus a while ago.) The ship saves you, but it can not move on its own? Some aliens you saved before, guided the ship in, and saved your life. Truly touching. #2: Golden Sun Wow. After all that hard work, they left the plot in the air! Felix and Sheba gone, Jenna still gone, Kraken too. 2 Lighthouses lit, 2 left. Wow. I need the sequel. #3: Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber Grrr. This one pissed me off. My men were so lawful and virtuous, when we saved the ghettos and crappy towns from demons, THEY HATED US! THEY WANTED THE DEMONS! Then, they had the nerve to call me, the General of a Battalion, Possessed by the Infernal Aura? Yeah, I could slice you crappy guards in half, get in my way losers. I kicked some butt, and what do I get? Evil peasants calling me a jerk, after I save the world. Then, I get exiled, and barbaric tribes destroy the Kingdom. Quote, "There once was a hero that could have prevented this, but his name has been forgotten." Searo you dumbasses! You need me and my super-godly troops to win! I'm glad you got killed by barbarians. |
