TR-canyons soo you have to literaly walk into the spray fire rate. NC-Obsctacles and altitude soo the NC can fire and hide for recharge. Vanu- The desert emptyness strongly favor the high manovrability of the magrider and their ships plus with no bullet drop and no fisical obstacle you will see yourself sniped at miles away. Problem is you can't really look at E3 and make conclusions about influence and the capture system because they intentionally disabled it and fenced in the demo area.
What we know is that there's a thing called "influence" and an adjacency system that affects territory capture time. They've mentioned "influence" all the way back last July so that tells me it's a core part of the territory control system and likely the way the game represents the adjacency system. "Influence" is a much simpler term and they could easily add more factors into it than simple adjacency if it doesn't pan out without causing player disruption with new concepts. |

Thank you for the confirmation. I'm guessing the system was not fully working at E3, since one section had 27% NC influence with no adjacent NC hexes. Or are there other factors that contribute to influence as well? Please do tell : )

Yea as Malorn said E3 is not a good gauge of how anything actually works. For example, MAX's piloting Liberators and Vehicles.
Brewko even said the drop pod system was tweaked for the E3 demo. Newsith - which comment are you referring? EDIT: I am fairly certain influence is calculated by both adjoining hex's and population within the current hex. I'm not 100% on that though. |

This may prompt me to go and learn the programming I'd need to do to scrape the hex influence every 15 seconds and display it as a line graph over time. |

Idk how to feel about the internal population influencing the time to capture, it could be quite dangerous with all 666 players of a faction going for the same hex to instant cap? imagine the scale of that, and then moving to the next target it would become something like the BSGO OP Tour.

Lots of possibilities there. We don't even know if population is a factor. To my knowledge it is only territory adjacency. There could be more, and they could certainly add more factors, but unknown at this time. |
