lol @ Higby complaining about having troubles driving on a ridge when he's the one who can change it to allow drivers to focus on actually driving instead of aiming & driving at the same time.

headshots are for all weapons, although the bonus damage for sniper rifles is way higher than on other guns. A chaingun getting headshots would probably do almost identical damage to a body shot, for example.

I beg to differ regarding BF3... it's not easy due to slow turret turn rates and hard limits on main gun barrel elevation, but the MBT HEAT round, the guided shell, and even the canister shot could OSOK a heli most times whereas the secondary gunner was useless against them.

In other words, if you have an AA gun, you just shoot your main gun til the aircraft come in, then switch to it, blow em up and switch back. Its really really really terrible design in so many ways. They really need to go back to pilots only driving and having specific vehicle slots, if you want to get in the other part of the vehicle you should have to get out or go thru a long "switchover" delay, it just feels so cheap, lame, and makes the game feel lazy in design to not only magically instantly enter a vehicle but then to pop fairy dust and instantly change gunner seats on top of that. This is a game with a bazillion players, make use of that. Stop designing things for single player action, design it for a game that has a ton of players. I just dont think they get it sometimes. Dont get me wrong, most stuff looks great, but vehicles are borked currently as is the terrible squad spawning BS. And the lack of actual specialization other than loadouts on infantry/armor, is sad to see. Not a fan of unlocks that have no limit, thats not "spec-ing" thats just unlocking as in you can get everything, you dont specialize, they need to stop calling it such when thats not what it is. Its very misleading.

Waiting for the return of the superior, real PS style teamwork oriented vehicles with drivers not gunning, and in fixed vehicle slots so we can once again have real, epic, vehicle battles where the tanks actually move in combat rather than a silly 1700's era line up and shoot. |

The driver having the gun doesn't bother me too bad, I just wish they'd put in an option to where a driver can delegate a passenger to control the main gun (PS1 style.) The only issue with that is I don't see how it'd work for the Magrider.

Anyways, back on topic sorry guys. I actually wouldnt mind seeing a "Disabled Vehicle" state for vehicles... where you may take a really big hit, and its starts to shut down some of your vehicles abilities until you go and repair up. |
