Re: Recent influx of hackers

Had someone accuse me of aimbotting when I got lucky and spun around with a Jackhammer as an infil ran through the door I was stood next to... (I wish I was on fire like in those 3 minutes for the rest of my playtime) ...And got accused of aimbotting, eventually I got fed up of his attitude and told him if he's really that convinced then just use /report and that I was putting him on ignore. I don't mind chatting with other players but I can't be arsed with people who just want to rant at you.

Also had a run in with a hacker on Miller who was aimbotting inside the Snake Ravine capture tower, then moved to another big fight east of Peris, etc. etc. (Early enough in US time that I couldn't just tweet at Brad Wilcox) This bundle of joy was in for hours and got to BR26+ before he was finally swatted.
As I've said, there needs to be something built into the reporting system that gives priority to someone who gets mass reports in a short period of time so that severe hacking incidents get a response time of minutes instead of hours.

I was inside a Biolab, around Point A, and I got killed four times in one battle by two different people in a Prowler.

Is that a hack?

I mean, how is it possible to shoot into the middle of a Biolab with a Prowler?

I don't like to make hackusations, so I'll let you decide...

This guy is romping around Matherson right now.

Just had another hacker ruin a decent fight at the Octagon on Miller, he always uses the same name profile 0000[name]0000, basically using a full suite of no-clip, ESP, with full auto aim bot slaughtering people by shooting from under the ground. No doubt after his session of pissing everyone off he just deletes the character and logs off.

I just checked out You Tube by typing PS2 hacks and there are guys actually selling this shit, id like to know what steps SoE are taking to combat this BS

Well, according to some of the replies I got to my well documented post on this thread, we're all whiners who are giving the hackers the attention that they want.

I disagree. It's a problem that needs to be addressed. Especially when the guy I was taking about was freely yelling that he was hacking and SOE couldn't do a damn thing about it.

That, my fellow Planetside lovers, is something that can ruin a great game.

Is there no way to stop this? It takes a CSR way too long to find them, and even then, they are difficult to find :\

This kind of activity kills my mood and my fun when playing the game.
The perks of F2P game.... The exelent CS support.

PS: BTW where is NSA? Now when NSA is spying on every one no matter who they are they might start to do some good and stop this hackers to get some good PR.

Probably the old trick of flying in the MBT on top of a galaxy...

Were you inside the upper biodome, or in the garage below? It's easy for tanks to shoot through the garage shields, no hack required, just a render distance exploit. Not sure how a tank could shoot into the upper dome without the entire tank being in there (which is possible).

Normally i don't make hacusations either, but we had one on miller late one night in this new year, and he wasn't even attempting to hide it, and he admitted to it and said it made his game fun, and since its a f2p game, that in his mind was all that mattered and it was all fine.

I haven't met him since that night so i assume he got banned.

Some people....

I have had the poor luck of running into two hackers over this past week. My first encounter was one who be able to land all of his photon pod rounds on me even though I was being evasive and had considerable distance, might add he wasn't even facing me lol. My second encounter was with a another nefarious individual whom was able to some how track me with his rotary without again even looking at me. Watching the tracers follow you while his aircraft is flying a different direction is hilarious to watch.

I was inside the upper dome.

How on earth does a tank get up there?

One thing I thought it might be is that peeps can shoot at the underside of the dome and cause blast damage on the floor above. Is that possible?

You can shoot inside Rashnu atleast, the highground near it is at same level as the landingpad.. however, i'm not sure if you can reach the cap points though.

Well... I was at Rashnu, as it happens, but I can't remember whether cap point A was in the LOS from the landing pad, and if the land was visible from there. But it sounds like that is the answer.

I'll remember to look next time I'm there. I didn't have the chance to look on the day because I was that busy chucking rez nades around

That's actually probably not cheating - if you get the timing right you can headshot people while not ADS with a bolt action if you fire as you go through their head.

Practice jumping at people and clicking as you're going through training dummies in VR, can get up to high success rate in a short time.

While it doesn't work well at all when actually playing, in that scenario the player probably just panic clicked upon realising you were there, and got the headshot due to lucky timing.
