You make it sound like 90% of people will be running around in MAXs. Truth is, if 25% of people go into the game thinking about going around in Max armour, about half of them will find something more immediate (less certs) for them to get involved in. That means just a little over 10% of people will get MAX armour. Granted it will dominate the infantry battlefield, but an Anti-air or Anti-infantry MAX will get it's ass kicked by a tank, and an Anti-tank MAX will get taken out by an infantryman with a rocket launcher.
And on topic, the only melee attack I can imagine a MAX doing is a broad sweep of it's arms, knocking over infantry so he can step on them. That, while effective against the some armour, will be useless against others (Agile armour getting up before it can be stepped on, reinforced armour preventing most of the damage done to the person inside, allowing him to respond quicker). Let's face it, the players are walking around in armour that can stop a futuristic sniper rifle from killing outright, so a lumberous punch won't do too much. |

dude, maxes are so cumbersome (prob) that the speed they moved there arm at would be so slow anyone could dodge it. Also, I don't imagine they are very flexible, so it would have to be a slow hook, which would make the travel time of its fist even longer, making it impractical
hell, I dodge knife swipes in games by ducking, I can dodge a slow left hook with ther crouch function any day

Wouldn't a FPS mech commander just be mw 4? increased customization in no way removes any of the features that make PS unique it would just add an intersting tactical depth and a little rpg flavor.
