I liked the inventory system, and wish more FPS games used it. It gives you flexibility to decide what you want to carry, unlike other games where you can store x amount of ammo for weapon A, and won't let you sacrifice ammo for weapon B to hold more.
This flexibility makes deciding what to bring a more complex decision. Last edited by CutterJohn; 2011-02-27 at 08:08 AM. Reason: failed example |

There needs to be more loadout slots for sure.
And I don't think that outfit loadout slots are a bad idea either. Some outfits would certainly make use of them for specific ops. Community generated inventory slots not so much though seems kind of pointless. And PlanetSide isn't empty at the moment.. In it's periods of being empty it was due to hackers not new people misunderstanding the game and quitting. It's also quite an old game - can't expect it to remain huge forever. Not every company has a limitless budget like Blizzard. |

Tbh, one of the aspects that needs the most work in this game is the new player experience. |

That's what it takes, though, to continue to grow. Willingness to basically rewrite the game as time goes by. Completely change mechanics, add whole new ones and a completely new graphics engine. The other way is to become some strange pop-culture phenomenon like WoW.

I don't like it.
Let players discover their own niche in this world and not feel they have to go with a cookie-cutter build. I did that in WoW and it got me no where. Rather explore and find unique solutions to common problems.

Having just come from eve, i feel its safe to say that dividing that server population in half would be a more accurate portrayal of the number of people playing. CCP makes tons of extra money by keeping the gameplay so simple that extra accounts are a really powerful thing. My ceo had 7 accounts.
If players don't want to use it they don't have to. Its a starting point, a direction. As they get a feel for the game they can make alterations. Those cookie cutter builds in WoW helped you learn the game without gimping yourself with abysmal choices, until you had enough knowledge to go your own way. Vivinde Entertainment knew well enough to leave Blizzard alone, do you really think Activision would dare mess with the money making formula Blizzard has been using? |

if star craft 2 had been released before activsion got there claws into it you'd have had another epic story arc like Warcraft 3 in 1 game then another expansion just has massive. it also would have had LAN support built in but like activision did with COD they like taking control away from the gamers. they may still support there games as they always have but they have turned from fluffy and cute game developer into another activsion COD like money sink for gamers |

Character names / transfers aren't cash sinks; they're privileges. I'd rather Blizzard offer them for a price than not offer them at all. You don't need to purchase them to stay competitive. The only valid point you have is LAN. Last edited by Bags; 2011-03-01 at 11:49 AM. |

I say let us edit our loadouts OUTSIDE the game so it can be quick and easy. Also use graphical in-game loadout editor also.
Then again, I guess someone would find a way to include dual Gauss Cannons like I saw one soldier using on a YouTube vid, so maybe not a great idea. But, storing the loadouts now should be cheaper, because we have about 250 times the storage capacity for the same price as we used to have, 1TB drives costing about the same as 40GB drives used to, so I don't think storage will be such an issue. I would like to have about 40 loadouts for quick choices, not have to tediously GUI my jammer into a different slot if I wanted to start with a CUD instead, etc. |
