News: The VS Pulsar

The "Old" Vanu weapon that we see in the amazing Planetside 2 screenshots might be some kind of Vanu shotgun weapon (wide-dispersion of a powerful, short-range energy burst).

Love the design but feels front heavy. Trying to figure out in my head how'd you would hold it with your non-dominate hand.

Eww, I really don't care for the design. TBH, this is the first time I have said anything like that about anything in PS2. VS can keep it. yuck.

Haha, you VS got screwed. It looks noticeably worse than the "pulsar" in that PS2 screenshot on the second page. First the relatively bland VS Knife and now this.

NC retain the best weapon design in video games (gauss )

I think that the Gauss looks fantastic, as well. The TR weapons look fine, though they're not my style. I'm very pleased with this Pulsar (and yes, the best photo I've seen so far is the orb-launcher rifle). In general, I'm very, very pleased with the Vanu art design.

Looks cool in a sort of badass-but-not-my-thing sort of way. No pew pew for me, no sir!

But I like the dead bodies left in the wake of the NC zerg to have awesome looking kit, so good work I say! Good work indeed.

I kinda like it. It looks like it has a "modular sleeve" type arrangement. I hope this holds true when it is customized.

Well if it is a Vanu "shotgun"... I wonder what kind of "blast" it will have. I just dont see "pellets" as being very Vanu-like.

I can think of a few, like the disruptors on StarTrek, or the Stormtrooper that stun blasted Princess Leia in the very first Starwars... I dont really like those for Planteside2, but it has to be an energy blast of some kind... Ideas?

Meh, shiny I guess, but that's the most I can say for it.

TBH, based on that picture above of an updated version of the old Pulsar, I think they are going to release updated PS1 reskins of the PS2 rifles for vets. They already have the old pulsar, doesn't seem like to far of a stretch to say they also have old Gauss and Old cyclers as well.

Maybe a "sonic boom" type thing like the one in Destroy All Humans. It's basically a wave of energy that spreads out over distance.

EDIT: @sylphaen It's the way it has a pistol grip at the back of the weapon.
