Author Topic: Derisor Told You So!
Strickk Station Member Registered: May 2000 posted 04-14-2003 02:35 PM user search report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I remember Derisor getting flamed to bits after saying that with no end game PS would get repetitive and lose subscribers. This was months ago. What an irony that this is the exact feedback coming from all the beta testers ... Strickk Yes, all the beta testers are bored to tears with this pointless, static, dull gmae SmokeJumperPS Station Admin Registered: Sep 2001 posted 04-14-2003 02:45 PM user search report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's not entirely discount the opinions of the silent majority that are playing PS in the thousands every day, regardless of time of day. Perhaps they're too busy to post because they're having fun in-game? However...we are NOT ignoring the feedback we're receiving on the forums. Much of the details receiving the hottest discussions are being modified because we recognize the validity in many of those comments. But it *does* take time to create patches. The next major patch should come out at the end of this week and will have many issues addressed in it. SmokeJumperPS Station Admin Registered: Sep 2001 posted 04-14-2003 03:10 PM user search report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BTW...we agree that incentives are needed also...and that we'd like to see more "stickiness" to fronts (they shouldn't move so quickly all the time). One of our primary design tasks right now is to remove the "phantom hacker" from the equation. That fix will be in, not this week, but the week following. We'll be adding other incentives (including continent lock incentives) right about the same time. http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/p...ML/005856.html

I am loving every minute of it.
It is not uncommon for me to put in a good 6-8 hours on a Saturday. I can see how some people are finding it repetative, however they are not seeing the chessmatch that is breaking an enemies defenses. If all you do is run like a lemming straight towards hte controll console, it is merely going to be a matter of who has the most manpower. However when you start working as a team, flanking your enemies, taking the alternate entrances in the base, strategicly place turrets and motion sensors, destroy equipment consoles, spawn tubes and generators, the game is alot more fun. There are even sneakier tactics that I won't give away, however the tactics in this game can be very interesting. It is a wonderful feeling when you put together a team, come up with a plan, and sucessfully execute that plan.

I remember that fool, that was back when I actually visited those boards(before I found PSU )
Derisor never replied to a topic after I set him straight and told him to leave, it was great

Derisor can be found on the forums of ANY upcomming MMORPG, I first encountered him as AO was gearing up to launch, he rana rather well knwon Fan site... Then his name got jacked, and held for ransom,a nd when FC woudl not "help" him, he kinda got twisted...
He was on the SWG forums I do believe, trying to correct that game, the PS forums trying to save the game, and I bet I will see him as City of Heroes, the next MMO game I am looking foreward too, comes closer to launch... ah well... some people.

I don't mind Derisor, personally. He was in Neocron also, and while many people dislike him, I personally think he has good ideas/suggestions/feedback. For the most part, at least. Not saying I agree with what he said here, however .

I would like to see something along the lines of one side winning. I think they should try to avoid it, but have a backup plan (ect. an expansion that as soon as the one side takes over the planet the expansion comes out with...whatever is there to continue the conflict.)
Of course they'd need to make 3 diff expansions and have them at the ready, but i really don't see any point in trying to capture bases and the like if nothhings gonna happen when we get all of them. However I'll probabaly still be playing 6+ hours a day to just kick ass.

I remember Derisor from the Neocron community. He was cool in beta, but then he went carebear commando. Not that I have any love for Neocron or Reakktor, but he just pissed me off thinking he could take anyone on and beat them.
