I do agree with baphomet, lag is THE biggest problem with ANY online FPS. The amount of times i've died in TFC because of lag...

i dont know why every1 complains about lag .. i mean i run perfect at my friends house must be your guys comp .. and the only time i got kicked out was when the server was going down or a continent kick ( which was only 1 time )

I am now so hooked in this game not only am I upgrading my connection, but my gfx, mem and subscribing to the game when its out lol

you think that is bad im buyin a hole new comp thats going to cost me 1500

Before I make fun of you, let me make sure I understand you. You are trying to say that EVERYONE experiencing cpu/video lag (probably about 40% of the playerbase), has a defective setup? Heres my specs real quick, and it IS home built, i've been building computers for about nine years, so I really dont think its a matter of inexperience.

AMD XP 1900+
GeForce 4 Ti4400 w/ 128mb DDR
768mb ddr2100 system ram

As you can see, my hardware certainly meets and surpasses the requirements of the game. bear in mind the problem started small and got bigger by the patch. Still think its 'your guys comp'? Yea, me niether.

D Ali G is Da coolest!!! "Yo check yo self befo you wreck yo self". Borat is hilarious!!! Anyways... why flame these devs? So far i have been amazed at the amount of updates and fixes. Everyone complains... it is a BETA for a reason guys. The devs seem really cool and i am enjoying the amount of player criticism (sp?) they are taking and using in a positive fassion. Also the general concensuss seems to be that they are releasing the game too early. Well it's ok with me cuz they are getting a base out there to build upon. Involving more people in the building process will just yield a higher end machine!!! Think... would you build a car for a company off of one guy's input? Or would you rather have the company BUYING the car give it's input? (all the employees).

I have a similar system to yours and have very few problems. I do have a gig of ram, however. The last major patch (with its immediate refinements) helped with fps issues too. I often play for hours at a time with no problems. Got the latest nvidia drivers?

I run PS on medium.

Yea, I got the latest drivers the other day to no avail. However, I think I might have found a possible cause. I had remembered installing DirectX 9.0, but for the life of me I cant remember if it was 9.0a or not. APPARANTLY other applications and games were experiencing slowdown with 9.0, so this very well could be the problem. . I'll keep everyone posted.

They will work out the crash issues. Having been in beta for months and seen the game in the state it was in back in december, I have every confidence they will work out the issues.

don't remember ANY framerate issues w/ my rig. most of the problem i face comes w/ the continent cyssor.

Athlon (not XP) 1.33GHz on Epox 8RDA+
512MB of el-cheapo PC2100
ATI 9500Pro

oh and what resolution do you play on? try tuning down from 1600x1200

1024x768. Tried 800x600 with a 3fps difference.
