Can somone please convince me !!!

Ok so i missed Beta,retail release is less than a week away and im getting bored with Neocron......can anyone give me that final push to scrap my cron account and move to PS ?
Ive been looking at the official and fan sites for about a week now and to be fair PS is looking more tempting every day, Ive read Headcrabs little illustrated stories ( nice work Crab ) but im just wondereing if im gonna get bored with this as quick as i did with Neocron ?
What do you guys think? Does this game play as good as it looks ? Will it last ? I need some tempting !!




p.s. Is there anyone here who already moved from cron ?

I dont got much convincing power but there have been numerous other threads asking to "convince them" why they should play PS at all. Try the search button and you'll find several posts convincing why.

Yeah ive taken a look at a few of those but i just wanted some input from the people who have been beta testing. I just dont want to erase my 4, 6 month old chars from Neocron just to find that the shine fades from PS pretty quickly and then regret it.

how fun the game is for you, is up to you...the game can get tedious and boring at times (ex. waiting 15 minutes for a hack), but it can also be rivetingly thrilling (as an infiltrator inside enemy's base, and having a MAX walk so close, the smell of Terran/NC is disgusting). I'd think that PS would have some sort of trial, maybe 5 days or something, where ya could try it out...haven't heard of it, but alot of games have that.

If you like teamwork and shooting stuff (well...who doesn't?) then you'll probably like PS.

I would not buy and pay a fee for the game if I didn't belong to the kickin' rad Outfit that I do. Teamwork is not just part of the game, it is the game. So if you do end up being convinced to play, make sure you look into joining an Outfit ahead of time, otherwise you will not have fun for long.

Warborn is exactly right. If you aren't with an outfit you love, there is no game. BUT if you can get into a good clan - more fun than any game you'd ever know. I'm on a psuedo vacation this week, and I play sometimes when the other bohica guys aren't on, and it's a totally different game.

Yeah... I never really thought of getting into an outfit before the game comes out because that just adds more responsibility... I thought it would make more sense to just find a few cool guys going out for an assault in the first couple days i play planetside and make an outfit that way. Maybe I will just join an outfit like new dawn or freedom corps or immortalis v. What would you guys suggest?

By all means, join Freedom Corp! Trust me, it is completly different playing in a pickup squad versus playing in outfit.

In a squad you usually dont know the people well and cant rely on them as much. Less organized.

With a squad you stick with them and get to know them over time and know who to call upon when in need. In the outfit Im in, I've seen large scale plans set to assault a base which is great. You get a convoy of vehicles set up and just rush em hard with the shock troops to clear the outside, infiltration team to get in and clear the enemies and hack the CC, then to the sweeper team to finish off the lingering baddies.

Thanx for the input guys, Ive made up my mind.....Planetside it is . Think im gonna wait a few weeks till i get my ass some broadband connection tho....I dont fancy playing on a my pretend 56k.

BTW, Which server is the best in your oppinions?

Way... i got BB and it still pisses me off. Sometimes i wonder why i got the game. Quite frankly theres nothing else that will fill this particular void. I totally burned out on T2 and retired all together. Which is the cause of the biggest void in my gameworld. Nothing beside PS even comes close the same feeling. I love RvS but thats a different feeling. Ya know what i mean?

And not making the comparison to T2. These are very different games, no question. But the wide open terrain, bases which house inventories/terms, Vspawn pads, a generator, and a place to spawn. 2 years ago when threads talked about what was missing from T2. I remember posting that there should be three way fights. So another team to add a twist to CTF. Well okay so iy doesnt work with CTF. But it does work for killin. And here it is.

So you see. For me, it's like i have no choice. I actually had all the same types of issues with T2 as i do with PS. And i played T2 when it was alot less stable than PS, even in beta. UEd every ten minutes. So this probably tells you that i got high tolerance for DaveGs bullshit. Ah but you see this time it's SOE and not Sierra. P2P = updated regularly. Or damn well better be. They have already anounced some new stuff. ie bomber. I can't say i love the game. But if they every balance the weapons. I'll at least like the game more. So are you missing anything now? Nope. Wanna go PS someday? Thats great! Take your time. It aint goin anywhere. Maybe when you do go PS they'll have fixed some issues by then.

There is no "best" server, except for whichever one gives you the best pingtime.

The servers are identical in content. Even if they were different, the game has been out for 2 days already...nowhere near enough time for a server "personality" to develope.
