multiple planetsides?

Newbish question(s) here: is there only one world or many? As in does everyone around the earth play on the same virtual planet or on simultanious ones? Or what im really asking is, could a elite outfit login at 5am one morning and take a few key bases, without much resistance?

You join a sever each with its own world depending on your physical location.

You could probably take a base, but you would have to continue to hold that base until more of your comrades log on, which could be tough.

Bases have automated turrets, but they will not operate without an amp station in the possesion of the owner of the base on the same continent. After getting past the turrets and taking out the nightowls I am sure you could take a base, but get ready to be tested when those people whose base you took wake up.

physical location are you meaning what part of the world they live in, if so then I will say most likely that isn't true. I am sure they will have the servers set up the same way they have them set up on EverQuest. There will be multiple servers and you can choose which ever server you would like to join no matter where you live in RL. I have played with people that lived acrossed the world from me, but we are on the same server while playing EQ. If you didn't mean that for physical location then forget this hole reply I typed up.

i hope that its like that. i have some friends from other games across the nation ya know? i wanna play with 'em and not an "east coast/west coast" type deal. (for US at least)

Yea as far as I know, the servers will not be linked.

But you will get a server list where you can pick what server you want to play on.

how are characters stored if you can pick diff servers?

You create new characters on each server. It will store it in some database for the server. That and a combination of magic and lucky charms.
