What was your favorite hacking moment?

There's nothing sweeter than jacking an enemy AMS in the middle of a firefight. I did that for the first time last night while there was a three way battle going on for a tower. The AMS was TR and was taking damage from NC troops and a few Vanu in the area. TR were pouring out of the AMS like one every second and they had two engineers trying to repair it.

I slipped in up to the front right between the two engineers and started jacking. ( Uh, not off mind you )

I don't have advanced hacking yet, so it took some time, and all the while there's this huge fight raging on around me. I just knew any minute I'd be seen or get accidentely hit by all the rounds going off everywhere.

As soon as the jack was finished, every TR in the area opened up on that thing. They were pretty pissed and as I tried to slip out of the area I got hit by some stray round.

I was playing solo and got something like 150BEP for the experience. That was one of the most intense 2 minutes I've had in the game.

So, what was some of your favorite moments. And I want a small story dammit. No lame one sentence deals.

Jackin An Enemy AMS & Deconstructing It....... One of my favortie things to do

decided i wanted to make my char a hijacker! I had magrider cert, so i decided to answer the call, and jack vanguards. So had to wait for bit to get more certs (expensive cert wise trying to play hijacker, your talking 5adv hacking, 2infil, and 3+ per vehicle). So i'm thinking, heh, this wont be too hard! ~4hours later i finally succeed. Im not talking about jacking that vanguard while they are in a tower, im talking about going into a base full of enemies and driving off with one!

So im in cyssor, the land of the vanguard. I run to the frontline base battles. I surge my way towards the Base we recently lost to NC, currently being hacked. Sheesh, there were like 40 or so nc folks,and good ole 3-4 vanguards. One was stationary, so i singled it out. But as you know, you cant jack a vehicle when someone is in it. The gunner was just turning the cannon left n right, and i sat there for 10min waiting for him to get out! People were walking all around me, vehicles driving around the Courtyard..i stuck close by the vanguard however. Finally i grew tired of waiting and went to see if any of the other tanks were sitting still..just then the gunner hops out and runs inside. Quickly moved to side with least visual exposure, jacked it and took off. I ran over two guys and 1-2 mines but got it to our base down the road. Heh, no one even pursued me, must have been shocked or didnt know why the vanguard turned purple! Anyways i came back with a gunner and was able to take out a vanguard and some stuff b4 getting pummeled.

other great jacking stories-
-NC guy buys a harasser in a remote base, drives off pad and gets out. Starts putting stuff in the trunk.. I jacked it, jumped into gunner seat. He ran around the car once then started shooting at me with the pistol , i unloaded on him haha! He came back out and blew it up and was lookin all paranoid for me
-vanguard guy repairing his tank, i take him out with pistol up close. Gunner hops out lookin for me, i jack it and take off.
-cc stuff, going into next lattice base b4 its hackable. Sitting in CC, then 3 tr maxes walk in and lock down pinning me on the CC console! they turn darlight when door opens but im right behind one max pinned on cc (bio base) so they dont see me. Even an infiltrator of theirs walks in and sits next to me. Tr infantry running in and out of the CC..i was dying laughing over outfit chat. Their infiltrator crouched right next to me. Anyways after about 15min the base was hackable and huge vanu force (amerish) hit the base. The cc guards grew tired of sitting down there and left and i hacked the base.

So I'm making an ANT run in the middle of nowhere on a continent with some pretty steep hills. I round the corner of a hill and there's a Galaxy parked there. Expecting to come under immediate fire, I was surprised by the total silence that followed. So I park my ANT around the bend and investigate. Pulling up the map, I notice we had a nearby tower that the enemy squad must've been trying to take. So I say, what the heck. After what seemed like an eternity, I finally hacked and deconstructed it.

I jump back into my ANT and continue on my merry way. As I just get to the warpgate, I see an enemy ANT coming out and I pass him by. Maybe he was counting on that Galaxy for transport? I'll never know. But it sure was funny to think that he was.

uh...im 100% sure you need adv hacking to jack vehicles

Well, I've been wrong before. I've got 4 characters going on Markov and I have a hard time remembering who has what sometimes.


OK, this doesn't exactly fall under the greatest hacking moment ever title, but it was fun.

I was playing on Amerish/Markov last night and decided to help out by retaking some towers. The first one I took was the watch tower near the southern most lake. The TR were raping the Vanu in the area, and the NC were coming in from the North. I figured there would be some steady traffic in the area and I probably wouldn't get bored.

After the hack I set about clearing the defenses some engineer had set up around the place and even managed to jack a TR heavy buggy someone had left near by. I then grabbed some grenades and set down to defend the tower.

This particular tower often changes hands and the people doing it are usually alone. So, I figured I'd be able to get in a few kills If I played my cards right.

What I did was hang out on the lower level until I heard someone hacking the door. I then would run up stairs and wait on the upper floor. From there I could hear them run upstairs to the CC. As soon as they started hacking I'd start lobing plasma grenades down onto them. Two guys in reinforced fell victim to this in about 10 minutes time.

While I was having fun with this I kept noticing that a Reaver would keep buzzing the upper floor. As soon as I got the opportunity I ran up stairs and jumped in a turret. Sure enough the guy buzzes the tower again and I rip into him. I don't know what the guy was thinking, but he tried to hover and launch rockets in my direction. Most of them never even hit the gun and I was able to just tear into him from close range.

My downfall came when a Vanguard parked outside the doors. I started firing with the gun and he opened up with that big cannon. I thought I was going to get the best of him, as most of his shots kept going wide of the turret. However, he finally got the aim down and about two rounds later I was toast.

It was a fun little scrap and I learned not to piss off Vanguards.

It also says you can't hack equipment terminals and vehicle pads w/o adv. hacking. but guess what? YOU CAN!
methinks Hamma needs 2 update. Things have changed since closed beta

I just checked my character and sure enough he only has hacking. No advanced hacking.

Looks like Hamma indeed needs to do some updating. This could lead to some horrible bickering. Oh, my God!

sheesh wonder when they changed it i coulda swore that was an advantage of advanced hacking. I havent played since beta though.

I intend to be a mag rider jacker when I get in. I just wanna hover, it's gotta be pretty cool.
