Question about base hacking and xp.


Infiltrated and hacked an enemy base, no fighting occured. Shouldn't I recieve some xp for that?

I mean really.

I think exp is also based on the amount of enemies in soi during and before hack.

I think you should still get some ammount of xp even if no fighting occurs.

You should get nothing.

If you'd been here when people did get XP for that, you'd understand fully why you definitely should NOT have any incentive to run around by yourself hacking and stealing bases.

see, it counts how many kills you make in the enemy soi about 10 min before the hack starts, to when its over. But i have one problem with this, when i play as a stealther and kill one, or maybe not even a single person, and hack the cc i get nothing. What do they expect, stealthers to be killing machines??? no

That's what I'm talking about. I stealthed into an otherwise completely unprotected base and recieved no xp for my work. The base I hacked created a link to the continent that otherwise had no other link.

Oh well.

True but actualy work?


We dont expect stealthers to be killing machines, but nor do we expect them to get free exp and go ghost hacking everything on the planet.

And stealthers can kill lots of people, they just have to go about it a difrent way then running at people head on with their knife drawn. Just a thought.

Basicly everything about this game is designed to facilitate large battles, not ghost hacks.

Even if there was a slight amount of experience given it would be a little bit of incentive. My problem with the system as it currently stands is that somebody locks a continent, they leave, then the other empires have no xp incentive to try and take the continent back. Sure, another empire might show up eventually and you might get into a fight and finally score some xp but what is the chance that will happen before you've wasted an hour going from tower to base to tower to base hacking for your empire? Even if a minimal xp gain was given (say 250 BEP) at least there would be a little carrot to dangle in front of people to try and take continents back (and therefore actually have a chance to effect which army wins for the day).

It doesn't have anything at all to do with kills. Nothing. Tell your friends this. This is a huge misconception.

It has to do with how many enemies are in the base SOI 10 (or 15, I can't remember) minutes before the hack, up until your empire controls the base. There is no killing involved, the enemies could be just standing around picking their noses, it doesn't matter. Check the official boards for more info about this.

Lets stop the disinformation, and spread the truth!

It seems to me that there should be some base xp for taking a base even if no one showed up to defend it. It seems to me that if you are a ghost hacker, the enemy could easily send a couple of people to take it back, and since they didn't, and the ghost hacker did benifet his empire they should get some xp, not alot, just something to make them feel like they didn't just waste their time.

then how come when theres a load of enemys, and im my stealther and im there a good 10 min before the hack: I get like 400 xp. Explain that

but then ill come in there with my main char. blow up a reaver, kill a guy, and run around and get there 4 min before the hack ends and get 1500. Doesnt make any sense if what your saying is true

Ok myself im and inf hacker, here's an idea JOIN A SQUAD!

I sneak in hack the base while my friendlies are duking it out outside. Sometimes this takes 30 seconds to get in sometimes takes 10 minutes while I hide from the baddies.

Then I hide for the 2 minutes it takes my friendlies to make it to the CC now the bad guys aren't pouring out of it.

Then I leave the compound and go outside and look for ams's and snipers, Most of the time I manage to kill 1 or 2 peeps while im out and about.

If all goes to plan and they hold it caching! 5000 xp for me and my squad mates and I didn't HAVE to kill a thing.

PS. SPITFIRE TURRETS SUCK! shouldn't jammers work on them too!
