QUOTE]they just seem so fast though. Its like if i drive an enforcer or basilisk into enemy territory, like just a tower, a will get 3 missle locks, while im going full speed. So i zoom out of that area far away and theres still missle locks!! Im pretty far away from the tower by now, but still end up taking serious damage.[/QUOTE]
Someone mentioned that striker missiles were exactly as fast as a mosquito/reaver w/afterburner. I don't have any scientific evidence, but I'd say from experience that this is pretty much right on. With regard to missile locks -- as long as you're in someone's line of sight, and within range (I *think* 200m...), it's fairly easy to maintain a lock. With the striker at least, you have to maintain lock until the missile actually hits the target -- so if you break the lock 0.5 secs before the missile was going to hit, chances are you won't be hit. With some MAXes I believe, once locked and the missile is fired, it's going to stay locked -- striker is a vastly different beast, which you can definitely use to your advantage. Finally, to any pilots out there, you better take evasive action the instant you see that missile lock, unless you're willing to gamble. With two strikers on the ground, you might be dead within a second or two of seeing that lock. Then again, it might be some dumb grunt like me, out of ammo, and just using the missile lock to scare away enemies |

I only use my striker on the dumber pilots...you know the ones that hover there above some 1 spraying missiles or the mozzies thats trying to gun down the infrantryman
otherwise i will just fire 1 and see if they runnaway as i understand it the "missile lock" warning only appears IF you have a missile currently in the air By no way is the stiker cheap....its very rare to see some 1 using their striker on a Infrantry man, but you ofen see a phoenix or lancer user firing on infantry The missiles arnt fast...they are about the same speed as the phoenix missile and have the disadvantage of not being able to fly round corners. The AV weapons Class is Balanced |

I think they get a warning, the instant you get a lock. Half the time, i dont even bother to shoot a missle at them, i just get a lock and see if they go away. Half the time they do. I tend to save my ammo for MAX units or the "stubborn" reavers who are calling my bluff or are fixated on something. |

Oh and for those of you complaining about missle speed, you are all being ridiculous in my point of view. Missles are supposed to be faster than vehicles. You just need to stop sitting in one postion whilst u unload weapons, and use evasive manuevers to outsmart the AI of the missle if u have missle lock.
