propaganda leaflets were fired from artillary, droped by airplane, and shouted over bull horns at the axis powers during WW2, and was very, very successful...
enemy units would surrender to the allies, walking up with their hands in the air, holding the piece of paper that said "safe passage garunteed"(the leaflet), and would surrender, be questioned, and in many cases enemy positions revealed....
Due simply to these leaflet propagandas, hidden enemy mortor/artillary locations were given, responsable for DOZENS of LIVES taken over the course of DAYS, and eliminated in LESS THAN an hour....
If you don't know the subject dont go spreading your 'beliefs'.. Propaganda on enemy soldiers was an EXTREMELY effective and commonly used tactics in the MAJOR wars, the only timse propaganda doesnt -as- well is because of 'set' disagreements(vietnam, democracy vs. communism--harder to get enemies to surender... but ww1/2, desert storm, other battles where the 'people' dont commonly suppot the leader... propaganda works VERY well... 1 less soldier ont he enemies side, Plus the locations of enemy is ALWAYS good...)
That said, you can't "change sides" once you start playing in Planetside, but I'm fighting for people to change sides before the war ;-P
