Newbie Questions

Hi, I have not yet subscribed to Planetside yet as the satellite internet company has yet to ship us broadband capabilities; however, that does not stop me from looking at the game immesely. Several questions regarding the game have sprung up because of this. First, why does everyone hate the NC? That is the race, in my mind, that is the strongest, and probably the one I will be playing once I finally get the game. I mean, with some decent tactics, NC would rule the entire map. They have the Gauss AND the Jackhammer, a mid-short range combo, how could they lose? Second, why is the TR so great? Sure they can fire their guns fast, but doesn't that mean that they have to keep a bead on their target for a longer amount of time? And lastly, I live in Georgia, which would be the best server to play on? In terms of good peeps and action without hassles. Since I am not a Planetside player, don't pin me to the wall if my ideas are wrong. Thanks

Well the NC and TR "hate" and "so great" are just peoples opinions, everyone has thier own opinions, mean there probable a really freky parrallel universe where VC is "so great"

With the servers, IMO West and East are much alike, I play on West because I live in Austrlia (hopes one day for an aussy server) but they are pretty much the same. They all have good, bad and ugly players

the only reason i hate the NC is because their Jackhammer is (in my mind) over powered. im TR and the reason we wrape is cause we just have the fire power

hmmm, i dont know what to say... this stuff is self decisions that most people keep to themselves (EXCEPT for the jackhammer

) it doesnt matter what server u play on, but pick one of the usa west ones like johari or markov. and all the servers have about the same level of playing quality, except for emerald, its overcrowded. and we could always use some more NC on johari you know...

Probably not a good idea to play the game on a Satelite connection m8, pings near 500ms - 1second at best I reckon.

Satelite = extremely high latency, 56k is better than sat for latency.

LOL... you answered you own second question

"Strongest" ? Maybe, but any difference is pretty marginal.. and will it still be by the time you start playing ? Who knows.

The others are right... satellite BB is great for downloads, and a waste of time for gaming (just think on the physics for a while). You would be better off with a 56k.
