That's gonna go down in History
Hamma's heroic last stand agains the oppressive aquatic regime. He took his Reaver on a kamikaze mission, engines roaring as he plummeted to his watery foe. Nearer and nearer...300m...200...100...50...this was it. The moment of truth. soldiers nearby stopped their fighting. Terran, NewCong, and Vanu all dropped their weapons to salute this brave and valiant hero. A man who would surely give his life to protect those innocent many who suffered years of reliance on this sinister substance. The pilot's life flashed before his eyes--his friends, family, comrades, and enemies all paraded through his mind in a blur. He closed his eyes and awaited his fate. The last few feet were all that stood between him and this ancient enemy. He drew in his last breath and let it go, chilling his lips as it passed. 'Surely' the noble soldier thought 'my soul left with it'. He was now less than an inch away. Time froze, as it always seems to do at the advent of such a life-altering event. Then it happened. The first drop was sucked into is intake, and seemingly knowing what was about to happen, sirens resounded inside the cockpit. Hamma, though, was already gone it seemed. He was himself but not himself. He was watching himself. He couldn't move, see, hear, breathe, listen or smell. "Am I..." before he finished his thought, it seemed his body grappled his escaping conciousness and sucked it back into it's rightful place. Sights, sounds, and smells flooded his psyche. He felt it then--a shuddering--not much at all, but it seemed to him that his reaver was being ripped apart nanite by nanite. Water flooded into a a newly-formed crack in the steel canopy. And he closed his eyes as the cold hands of death pried his soul from his body. Game over.
