Evolution of the word "PWN"

I used pwn back whne Duke 3D was the shit for online gaming. Correct me if I'm worg but doesn't that predate CS by just a tad? And if it doesn't I've both used and seen it used in MUDs. In fact I got banned from one mud for making a character named Guy Smiley, killing someone and shouting "PWNED, BITCH!" then giving "God" (a GM) the finger when he told me my name was inappropriate.

But I digress. Anyways there is no true documented history of "pwn". We all have our own personal experiences with it.

pwn did appear before the time period i am describing sporradically, but im TALKING how it made MAINSTREAM.

and some people need to stop rebutting me trying to simply give some damn information which is mostly baesd on historical sight, not trying to fucking argue with anyone geez. but anyways, saying 3 sentences in trying to invalidate my paragraphs worth of information is completely retarded.

im not getting pissy or anything, its jsut that everytime some information is provided whether its an opinion or fact, some people always have to come up with some kind of excuse or reason to make you wrong. wtf is with that?

im giving the evolution of the word not trying to create a arguement on how *it first appeared*. you need to understand what the topic is about in the first place, and understand what the subject is about before posting something you *think* is related in left field.

btw this post isnt directed to anyone in specific, just trying to beat some sense into people who "oh, ill make a response thats opposite of his to make myself look good!yea! and then ill say some faggish thing that makes me sound ive done something before"

I understand that and was in no way refuting what you were saying. That seems to be fairly close to what I would agree with on it becoming coomonly used. What I was refuting was JohnnyK's statement. The other point being you went through your view of the histroy of "pwn" and there is no true documented history. When you post opinions and people have diferring ones you're going to have to deal with it I'm afraid.
