ONE thing wrong with it. If an enemy gets close to you, he could knife you to death beouse it sucks against infantry at CLOSE range.

Maybe it's making up for exceptional amount of assbeating dished out by your pounder against infantry, vehicles, and low flying aircraft? God you people wnat everything you wanna complain about MAX's try playing NC for a while the only max we have that isnt retarted is our AA max. Well i shouldnt say retarted, just our max's are kinda the base line that all others are judged against, the Vanu max's about the same but their special ability is so much better, and the TR special ability just owns all.

Oh yay I get a shield, that degrades while being used, wont stop a complete striker missile, and I cant fight while using it, great it protects me while i'm reloading, provided the enemy max's and infantry havnt already killed me, and pisse don my corpse.

Our scatter cannon max does laughable damage requiring what, four shots to kill an agile, where as the TR pounder kills multiple agiles in two, around corners no less And the range/damage on our AV max straight up sucks.

I hate to break it to you guys, but none of the AA maxes can hit aircraft at highest altitude. No not even the almighty sparrow, believe me I have that cert.

Actually ALL AA weapons and MAXs can hit aircraft at the flight ceiling, On Ceryshen

I have the Sparrow MAX cert (and I think everyone playing NC should, its amazing for 2 certs) and I have to agree with you about the shield being absolutely horrible. I wish people would stop saying it though, most people dont know exactly how much damage the shield can take, including a lot of NC, its more intmidating than anything else.

Although it cant absorb the full brunt of a Striker missle, its does absorb a large portion of the damage, and if you used at the right time the shield can save your life, giving you a chance to run and get repairs. Its nothing amazing, but it helps.

Plus, the shield works well protecting you in run mode, whether saving you from those damned land mines or deflecting the Phalanx turrets while you rush into the enemy base.

Sparrow does not get nearly as many kills against aircraft as either the burster or the starfire, but it's better than a Gauss with AP rounds.

Burster is lunchmeat for me, no matter which setup I'm in. You dont want the bastage running away from you, get surge, its one of the most useful(and underused) implants you can get.

I've played all the NC MAXes, and I can tell you the Scattercannon is a good MAX if used properly. Nothing compared to the pounder against infantry, but it does its job. Its 2 shots(full on) to kill an agile, 3 for reinforced. increase shot count for misses and partial hits. It will shread just about any other MAX except the DC, but you can leave that one to the infantry(DC is not as effective against infantry if you know how to deal with it).

Nah man when I had the scatcannon I would own DCes too. That thing is brutal. Within 5 minutes of picking up the cert my first time I downed a lib that was hovering low and like 3 maxes, all TR.

I disagree with the guy who says NC maxes suck. Due to the lack of TR AV maxes, you can pretty much kill every infantry and TRMAX that you come across with the NC AVmax. When you do come across a TR AV max, it's anyones game. And the VS maxes just die, poor things. I like the scatter cannon as well, though it's no where near as versatile as the AV max. I don't see why you think the NC has such poor maxes, I'd take the NC AV max over any other max in the game.

It's good, but to me not worth loosing the ability to repair armor, hack, heal, or jump. When you can always pick up a striker, but yes the burster is a very good versatile MAX, you can pick up quite a few reaver kills with a DC too.
