Bolt driver: one shot kill?

I recently picked up the sniping cert and have begun using it quite a lot. I've found that i've killed a great deal of people with it, but many kills have been spoiled by the fact that after shooting a person they take cover and dont come back out forever. I just wanna see what the community thinks about the bolt driver.

I think it takes 15 shoots to kill a max, it does 50 damage each shot and 750 (this is how much health it has with both armor and health) 750 divided by 50=15. I think it's fine. One shot kill would be two easy, it would make one of the best close range weapons also. Just walk up to someone one shot and they're dead. Right now it's a one shot kill on infitration and making it a one shot kill on anything else would be to cheap and unbalenced. Also giving it a two shot magazine would make it to easy because it wouldn't give the guy time to run for cover, and before he knows it he's dead. I think the sniper right now is just fine, but I wouldn't mind the CoF being smaller when you move.

Meh I'd say the sniper rifle is fine. I wouldn't mind seeing a little less bloom when you track targets but It's really nothing I thikn needs to be changed. I'd say they got the sniper rifle just about perfect /shrug

Snipers are enough pain is the ass as they are now, especially for a Phoenix user...

BD is fine. I know plenty of people who use it and see enough kills from it to justify the sever limits placed on it. It does have the greatest range of any weapon. A common mistake is how it is used. It should used more for picking off the sligtly wounded (it will take an agile down to 25 hp and a reinforced to 35 hp) and forceing people to take cover while the heavy infantry moves in.

It is OK right now. Granted, the point of being a sniper is to take someone out with one shot, and never be seen, but that would be a bit unfair in the game. If anything was changed, I would like to see bullet placement effects. If I hit someone in the head, they should fall in one shot, but if I hit the arm, they should only lose a bit of life. Same with MAX's. They are heavily armored, but all armor has it weak points. Maybe adding a sweetspot would be fun. Possibly popping a MAX in the back of they neck would penetrate a little deeper, doing more damage.

But that would creat more lag, that's way the makers didn't do regin specific damage, would be harder on our comps and they're servers with all of the caluclations being down. But I do agree, reign specific damage would be awesome.

If it got one hit kills, even on mere AGILE armors, it'll still be a major piss-off. Hitting an opponent once with a Bolt Driver is as easy as cake; it's the second shot that takes skill. Not to mention how irritating it would be to be walking along. then drop dead out of no where, or to have dozens of people slaughtered by a squad of snipers, etc.

Snipers are meant for support, not to be killing machines, in the strictest sense.

Truer than most people know...
As for my opinion it seems in some cases the first shot may take skill as in if the target is moving and such.. but also it seems (im not 100% sure on this) that there is a little locational damage...it may just be the stupid shootin range but if you shoot their mouth/visor it sometimes drops em

There is no locational damage. A shot to a left toenail does the same damage as a shot to the cerebellum.

The BD is fine the way it is. This is coming from a sniper. Sniping isn't supposed to be easy, thats why we have HA!! If it were one hit kills, then it would turn out to be a big sniper war, to me there fun, but even after awhile that gets boring.

Set up a sniper team, communicating via voice. Hit the same targets with two or more bolts, or clean up the wounded (advanced targeting).

if the target is less than 75% damaged and u shoot him, hes dead, so the rifle is fine, tho the CoF could slightly be less sensitive.....
