Core Combat nerfs the command uplink

It just occured to me that since the caves are underground/inside the CUD is going to be useless down there. I hope they come up with some new command abilities to compensate, but since they haven't mentioned anything about that I doubt they're going to.

Well none of the abilities should work then, if you equip it when you're inside it won't let you do anything. CR5s will still get their chat commands though, but still...

I imagine the command uplink would be useless, but you still have continent chat.

As Hamma said, Orbital Strikes won't be available underground. Think about how the EMP looks when it goes off. The wave emits from the person who triggered it. You could make an arguement that Reveal Enemies/Friendlies is something that's sent to the CUD via Orbital Stations however, but I don't think it's going to hurt anything to keep it an option.

Saying that an expansion made an asset nerfed is kinda like a guy getting fatter and claiming his belt got nerfed.

Not trying to be an ass, just stating that an expansion that grants a ton of new stuff compensates for the loss of one item's functionality.

Just my opinion.

I don't follow the belt analogy... How 'bout it's like being given a whole set of wrenches in exchange for your screwdriver. It's fine most of the time but eventually you'll wish you had all your tools. No biggie, I was actually more hoping that they'd add some flashy new CR abilities that could be used indoors.

I know it's been stated that OS won't work by the Devs. I have yet to see where reveal enemies or EMP wouldn't work.

Where are you getting your information from Jagd?

It's just a speculation based on the fact that you cannot use the CUD for anything when you're inside; it pops that message up on the screen to warn you just for pulling it out. I know the EMP looks like it comes straight from the player, but without line-of-sight to the sky I seriously doubt it will work, but you never know. Wish I would of thought of that before the Ask the Dev's thing.
