I learned this trick from PSU a whiles back and I thought some newer players might benefit from it...
If you're a fan of the plasma thumper, but you're sick of changing ammo types every time you select an inventory favorite, change the ammo type in the thumper and then save it as a favorite. Every time you select that favorite, you'll be wielding a plasma thumper (or emp grenades, if that's your thing). It also works with AP ammo. Also, you can take Combat Engineer and fill your vehicle favorites with ACEs and NanoDispensers so wandering engineers will be able to repair you or deploy minefields. If you forget CE later, you'll still be able to get those items in your trunk.

No, but you can setup a loadout for Empire weapons, and save that, minus the weapon. Well, except for you NC and TR people who want Vanu weaponry. *Winks* The advantage of being VS is we don't have to pick up HA ammo. But you have to pick up ours, if you want to use it.

Another trick: you can create any loadout in VR and save it as a favorite, gaining access to material that you would not normally have access to - I carry medical canisters in my MAX suits, but I have no medical certs. I created a loadout in VR, and now I always have medical supplies for our meds. Works great.

my outfit uses the bind AMS trick to transport around when no one can get a transport. Deploy the AMS, everyone in the squad bind to it and deconstruct, the driver undeploys and drives it somewhere and deploys the AMS. Every then chooses that as their spawn point. That freaks people out to see maxes and people in full armor coming out of AMS'.
FYI, the only downside to this method is that if the AMS is deployed and you are in teh process of respawning to it, if it dies during that time, you respawn at sanc. You have to be pretty careful in using this. |
