The Emerald Alliance (soon to be name-changed) suffered an unfortunate incident when someone tampered with the website. The webmaster did some quick patchwork and the website is now back and operational.
The Emerald Alliance has seen rocky times since its creation. It has undergone radical changes in management, whether that be under a new leader or the latest change to an elected Chairman. I have heard disparaging comments about the Alliance- unfortunately for me, I was not around to bear witness to whatever bad incidents occurred. When I came back to Planetside (after a military deployment), I found the Alliance is a sad state of affairs. I, along with the active outfits in the Alliance, are working hard to change that.
One of the comments I heard was "The Emerald Alliance is a bunch of n00bs trying to rule the TR." That's not exactly true, nor is it fair. I'll address this one first. Many of the players who are members of Alliance Member-Outfits are not n00bs. While I am not as "leet" as some people, I know my way around the game. I, and many others in the Alliance, have been playing since exclusive beta. Now that doesn't entitle me to non-n00bness, but it certainly doesn't make me new to the game.
We also do not desire to "rule the TR". The first and foremost reason is because there are quite a few idiots in TR that I would prefer to have as far away from me as possible. In fact, there have been outfits that the Alliance specifically told "NO" when they were interested in membership. I'll not go into details because that's old news and prior history- and we don't dwell in the past. Suffice it to say, if the Alliance says it is open to any and all outfits, but we are forced to tell whole outfits they are not welcome, then that should be enough to tell you there are undesirable elements in the game we don't care to associate with.
So here is my plea to all Terran Republic outfits on the Emerald server: please do not judge the Alliance by its past history. I, for one, am not like prior "Alliance leaders". The Alliance is indeed open to every TR outfit, however we have a code of conduct and we also have a set (but small) list of expectations that all outfits are required to adhere to.
