Has anyone here used norton ghost?

Well i'm upgrading the HD on one of my families comps and i want to copy the original disk to a new biger one keeping eveything the same but the partition size(because it will be going from a 40 to an 80 or higher, and my parents/sister couldn't handle 2 drives/partitions), i will be removing the old disk to use in a different comp. Now with norton ghost you can do this but the guide is vague on how to make and identical bootable HD copy. I was wondering if anyone that has done this could give me a better mental picture of how to do it.
