I work at my local gamestop. Its pretty cool, because when I work not that many people come in let alone buy anything. Its been picking up since its the holiday season. I make a little above minimum wage but its not bad. The problem is I loss all the cash selling games on buying games.

Hmm, good job I guess Ait'al... I don't believe you, but thats ok...
We just got done with a very extensive hiring process... Upon putting the ad in one local news paper on a Sunday I had 180 resumes printed and waiting on my desk on Weds! We instantly disqualified anyone that did not have a four year education. That left us with a pile of over 100 still... So next step was to disqualify anyone that either did not have their full MCSE or five years of working experience. That left us with 40ish. Now this was 40 people that were highly qualified, and we were offering 40k and no more. We had a guy with his full NT4 and 2k MCSE, ten years of experience, but who lived in New York. He said he was so desperate that he would work for $39k a year, would start work in 3 days, and would move his family to him later on. You can not imagine how bad I felt for this guy... A very smart guy, well qualified, lots of experience, and willing to work for half what he might be worth... He has kids and a wife, all who need to be fed, clothes, and taken care of. That really made me so glad that I got a job when I did. We read every resume thouroughly and ended up picking 10 people to call. I had my secretary call them and interview them over the phone and give me the results. 7 of those people came in for the first wave of interviews, with me. One guy was a total psycho, I personally think he was just acting because no one could be as psycho as he was. He was absolutely drenched in sweat, was wearing jeans and a stained T-shirt, knew nothing about computers, and claimed he liked to burn things. (He must have been lying, because his phone interview's answers were quite good) Four of those people came back for round two of interviews, two sets of one hour "grillings" by our HR people. Three passed that and came in for our hands-on lab test... In this we set up our R&D lab to be a testing lab, where there were five problems and scenarios that the guys had to work through. Only one came close to getting them all right, and he is who we hired. This guy has his phd in Theoretical Physics, went back to school and got his masters in something computer related. He has his full MSCE, Cisco Certified Master Engineer, and all the piddly certs, ten years of experience... And he is making $40k a year! So I am not sure where you live Ait'al, or if you are telling the truth... But if you are, then I recommend you work as many hours as you humanly stand, because the economy can not support your position, so build up a nest egg. Ann Arbor, MI is where my company is located... And in a recent report in the WSJ it was just below Silicon Valley in tech industry spending, and it certainly shows... Only the best of the best are getting mediocre jobs! Squick |

Actually $45 is at all that much. Neither is 100 billion. Once you think about it, 100 isn't much though it seems like a lot when you're a kid. My dad just seems to be able to spend thousands without worrying about being poor.
EDIT - Were there any girls there that you babysitted and ended up "playing" with? |
