Close Combat Vehicles

I have been playing around a lot lately with some of the AT vehicles. Mainly the switchblade and the flail. The biggest problem with both of these is that once deployed you can only target up and down, that means no side to side rotation!!! I think if these vehicles were allowed a 15 degree arc of rotation left and right (for a total of 30 degrees) they would be much more playable. I was using the switchblade last night and was deployed just inside the entrance to a base when three vanguard rolled into the base. I start hitting them and then they out of my arc of fire. They were not going top speed and if i'd be able to turn a bit i prob could have taken one out. When using the flail I had to keep undeploying and redeploying just to get a fix on my targets.

You're using your mouse for steering aren't you?

Turn off the mouse steering and you will have a full 360 degrees of rotation, and about a 90 degree arc view for both the flail and the switchblade.

My session of "helpful" comments isn't an object or being, but if it was I think it would kick your ass for calling it a moron

Options, keymap, the mouse icon, and somewhere there is says "use mouse to steer" or something. Make sure thats not ticked. I think that will do it.

You might have had the vehicle against a wall, in which case it won't gain the full arc.

Everyone else who I've talked to and observed, as well as my own time in a Switchblade, has been able to pivot in any direction in a 360 arc with or without a mouse, and it's more that the up and down arc is limited.

I was playing PS for months before I finally realised you could get a full 360 rotation by disabling mouse steering. It felt like an early christmas when I could actually rotate my lighting's turret instead of turning the whole tank around.

Until they modified the lightning, it only had a small forward-facing firing arc. Now it has a 360-degree turret on the top. Prior to that change you had to maneuver the entire vehicle to get the shots you wanted.
