I was hungover today from a HUGE party last night, just channel surfing around 2pm when I stumble across the movie "Solider" with Kurt Russell. I have seen this movie years ago. But near the end when the elite troops move in on the compound they are wearing armor (thoguh it is black) that looks like the Terran Republic, especially with teh bug eyed helmet and the sorta canister breathing mouthpiece. Furthermore one of the troops had a MCG... a little blockier looking but deffinetly a MCG. Who knows, maybe this movie was some inspiration.

Heh, those soldiers were engineered to follow orders unquestioningly too if I recall.

actualy im pretty sure it comes from starship troopers, though im not sure, and ill tell you, the color, the armor, and mabey the story line comes from metal fatigue, i dought theres a coincidence between the similarities between those games

I remember that movie hehe, but starship troopers resembles PS much more than any other movie. I think ther is actually an empire called terran

The TR gas masks strike me as very "SAS" style, the NC are Starship trooperish, and the NC are kind of Halo style. Though, I doubt the VS were isnpired by Halo...

I can barley remeber that film Soldier, was that the one when he was the "Bred" soldier, and was replaced by the enginered ones, then dumped in a junk planet? then owns the enginered ones becasue they are too inexperianced?

The TR Rexo gasmask make me think of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" Some of the drawn scenes have people in gasmasks, and TR remind me of the fascists in that movie as well, all red and black...

guys in PS we do not wear grey football padds like in Starship troopers... every movie/game steals from the marines of Starcraft. Just look at them or maybe Starcraft stole it form the Space Marines from WarHammer 40k i dont know but its definently not starship troopers.
